Isn't breaking in half a very real danger for ships when they hit very large waves?

True, breaking their backs will sink them just like a torpedo will sink a ship by exploding below them and not on them will create a shock wave. You notice after they crest the wave that it's flat thereafter, that's still the tsunami as it goes on for miles.

Those Tsunami warning signs that people ignore out of hand on the island here have gained a new found prominence because of this. We should replace those signs with these videos.

Some of those folks waited until the last possible minute and it ended up being their last minutes...5 minutes and it was all gone....centuries wiped away.
