If anyone has any doubt about the sort of mentality that accompanies the TeaParty, take the time to watch this one. Absolute hilarity around 2:05 for all us Canuckleheads:

You folks enjoy a good laugh now but do remember all of this when a few years down the road you're wondering why a Tea Party dominated Congress isn't so fond of Canada. It's funny how you all got your knickers in a knot when American liberals subjected Canada to your behavior. Oh? You forgot how Obama snubbed Canada because you have a conservative PM?
Now you're going to have Tea Party members in the US Senate in a couple of months and they're going to be sitting in the committees that get to rule on trade disputes. And you're giving them an axe to grind.

So when you whine about how Canada gets porked over on trade issues and maritime rights just remember you asked for it.

Right, because they are ignorant of facts we should play nice. You basicly just said, "Go ahead and laugh at the bully, he will come for you and since you arent his friend he is gonna git ya! If you dont want him to git ya, you should go along with him, even though you know he is wrong..."

My point is that the more Canadians get involved into US politics the more you'll be involved in US politics. When Canadians and Brits tried to affect the outcome of the Ohio vote in 2004 Bush remembered it and he also remembered Canada's ambassador to the USA openly endorsing Al Gore in 2000. In so many ways, Canada is paying for those breaches of protocol. Heck, people like ME remembered it and made donations to the Conservatives because, frankly, that helped us here in the USA.

Now Canadians are tweaking on the Tea Party people who are absolutely going to control 6-10 US Senate seats and probably 40-60 House seats and if you think there won't be any payback you're just fooling yourself. They may not come after Canada with any vendetta, but if Canada comes looking for trade concessions or to resolve disputes these people will have nothing to gain by making nice to you so why bother?

Really, in your 'worst case scenario' the Tea Party takes over the GOP and after the 2012 elections and take control of the White House and both houses of Congress and then people like yourself will whine and cry when the Tea Party people aren't nice to you. Why should they be?

I'd say the same if you were a bunch of Canadian conservatives bitching about Obama. And do bear in mind I'm not in the Tea Party, okay? I don't care for Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh even if I sometimes agree with them. As shocking as it may sound, I'm more libertarian than they are.

My concern here is that Canada doesn't go out of its way to make enemies who can cause you a boatload of trouble simply by deliberate inaction.

So it can actually get worse than just being regularly accused by American politicians of being the jump-off point for the Sept 11 hijackers? Or see our beef and lumber industries destroyed by Republican-supporting free traders closing the border to our products when it was politically benefical for them to do so?

Gulp. Now I'm really scared! 8O

Well, right now you're getting done over by the Democrats, so yes, it can get worse.

And evidently this Lawton guy is a self-absorbed, rhetoric-spewing windbag. A lot of a prattle and not much substance.

Not much to worry about.

That's truly sad. The level of ignorance is astounding (and i'm assuming these clips were indeed selectively chosen too).

I think history has shown that Canada usually gets "porked over" by the USA, regardless of which party is 'running' (and I use that term lightly) the government.

According to Beck on Saturday he was hoping that America was of God, not the other way around.

Which echoes Abraham Lincoln who said that he did not presume that God was on the side of the Union, he much preferred that the Union be on the side of God.
