kenmore kenmore:
Actually I met Mme Jean and I found her quite down to earth and ordinary. There was no pretentiousness or air of elitism. I have read some of Jean Daniel Lafond's books and view some of his films. He was at one time a supporter of separatism, but denies that now. Most of the country feel she has done a good job and represented the country well. I believe she has. There was a strong showing of people who wanted her term extended so I think it was because of her good work. She is moving on to another post in which she will represnt Canada well and I wish her success.
She might be a good chick but she was telling a French audience that she was Canada's head of state, and she isn't. I'm also suspicious of her French citizenship and her French hubby.
The French (as in from France) are not great supporters of any monarchy and are especially not jolly about the British-Canadian monarchy.
Both Brits and the French harbour resentment towards each other that pre-dates the Noman invasion of England in the 11th century.
Having French citizens be the Queens rep in Canada has always seemed dubious to me.
Also Jean seems more interested in her country of birth than Canada and I see she's now the UN special envoy to Haiti, as in not Canada. She obviously has very mixed loyalties and her hubby is patently anti-Brit.
Good riddance.
here here. All that and she was a Conservative shill. Good riddance.
