Well, I'm bringing an air horn the next time a Canadian golfer shows up for Augusta.

Good luck getting that past the medal detectors. The Augusta National police would have you arrested and flogged.

That's football, this is curling.

And why should that matter? I'd argue noise in football is a greater distraction on the players than in curling.

It's common knowledge to anybody that's grown up with the sport. traditionally, curling rinks have a wall of glass seperating spectators from the rink. You can't hear cheering etc.
Have you ever curled competitively??

No, I have not. But I'm a hell of a good golfer, so I understand the argument. [B-o]

Golf is a perfect example. Some tournaments are louder than others. The TPC and Ryder Cups are always noisy. Augusta is more "traditional", but noise and cheering on the PGA tour is certainly less strictly enforced now than, say, 20 years ago.

TPC Scottsdale is the only exeption as far as noise and regular PGA events. It's the only allowable freak show on the PGA tour.

I'm willing to bet most, if not all, people who have are on my side of the argument.
Noise might be okay at a beerspiel, but not the olympics, not the brier, not the tournament of hearts...
