$1:
It is important that people speak out when there is no crisis to speak of to cause this action to begin with otherwise why have a parliament at all? The opposition has been silenced.

Well closer to the truth everyone has been silenced...unless they're posturing for the media.....for 6 weeks. <shrugs> So? This happens all the time. I don't mean to sound snarky I'm just sayin'.

6 weeks? Why not 6 months or 6 years then? Why have the pretence of this representation at all? I can't take 6 weeks off work just because I feel like it, why should they?

Ever read the words to 'Dogs' by Pink Floyd?

http://www.pink-floyd-lyrics.com/html/d ... yrics.html

They fit well for the average MP with ambition. Good tune too!

Didn't even have to check your link! I know every word of that song (and every keyboard part, and every guitar part on the whoile album, actually). I'm a pretty huge Floyd fan. Animals is my favourite album. My little ones can sing along to The Gnome and Bike (from Pink Floyd's first album, Piper at the Gates of Dawn)

A Floyd aficionado magic.... [B-o]

I always did know you're an immigrant from the dark side of the moon.

Using FB as a measure of public anger is less than credible.

It seems like it's a great way to organize groups though.. It's up to 92,000+ now.

I'd be seriously tempted to join the group myself if it was truly against prorogues, as in it's purpose was to try and get rid of them.

But it's not. It's a partisan page dedicated to whining about it because 'your man' isn't doing it.

<shrugs> Write your mp. Tell them you want the opposition to force an election. That's democracy isn't it?

Or is democracy only democracy when the horse you bet on comes in first?

Just sayin'.

No, it's actually several non-partisan pages organizing dissent against the neocons into local chapters. It's about time too.

<shrugs> that's what I said. It's not about getting rid of it, it's about protesting it because 'your man' isn't doing it.

EDIT: IOW, It's not about getting rid of it because it can be abused, (has been in the past and will be in the future), it's only purpose it to whine because Harpers doing it.

Good tune? No. GREAT tune. Waters' live version, with Jon Carin and Doyle Bramhall is BRILLIANT.
