Eummm, The Netherlands is going to have a white christmas this year, the first since 1981... Warmer?
The Netherlands is getting warmer, but the real impact for them will probably be the rise in sea level.

Global warming theory isnt really about weather patterns observable to the naked eye. People cant look out the window and judge whether global warming is real or not based on their casually observed weather; nor whether it feels colder or warmer or snowier or less snowy last year or years before. GW deals with average worldwide temperature increases of one or two degrees C, which is basically unnoticed to the casual observer.
The theory does NOT claim that temperatures will always be warmer everywhere, just that the *avereage* global temperature is trending upwards over time. It supposedly means "wacky weather," be it more snow or more unpredictable weather events, not just warmer weather for everyone.

my understanding is that "climate change" is actually the newer, preferred, politically-correct term since "global warming" was deemed to controversial. Supposedly, George W Bush's election team was one of proponents of the newer term.
