Akhenaten Akhenaten:
regardless of whatever story PuggyRug is trying to sell. It certainly applies as well at an army base in Texas as it ever would for say a public school in Toronto or California.

I'm not trying to sell you anything, it's all free. There's more weapon control inside an army base than outside. Anyways we will eventually learn the truth.

Akhenaten Akhenaten:
Well this probably would never have gotten very far if it weren't for all the gun control in Texas. If it weren't for that there'd be armed citizens everywhere who would've effectively neutralized the gunmen long before they would've racked up a such a high death toll.

....oh. waitaminute....

Exactly what I was thinking....

The latest out of Ft Hood...and video:

$1:
FORT HOOD, Texas - A U.S. army soldier who allegedly opened fire at a military base in Texas, killing 12 people, was reportedly still alive Thursday evening.

Initial reports said that the gunman had been shot dead by police during the incident at the Fort Hood base. But in a shocking twist on Thursday evening, base spokesman Lt.-Gen. Bob Cone said that the suspected gunmen was in fact still alive and in hospital.

"He is currently in custody and in stable condition," said Cone, speaking to reporters at Fort Hood.

"He is hospitalized, and I've had no personal background with him that I can speak of."

The armed suspect has been identified as Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, aged 39. Hasan is a psychiatrist who was about to be deployed overseas.

Along with 12 deaths, at least 30 people were injured in the violence, which is the worst-ever at a U.S. military base.

The shootings began at the base's Personnel and Medical Processing Office around 1:30 p.m. local time. The office handles administration for soldiers who are about to be deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.

There's also far more armed police officers (MPs) than most places civilians usually hang out.

Ft. Hood base commander Lt. Gen. Bob Cone said that the soldier allegedly behind a massive killing spree is in fact still alive, despite previous reports that he was dead.

He's a psychologist and wasn't there for just a week...

I read in the Dutch news tho, that "they" had a "funny feeling" about this guy 6 months ago, and "were going to" investigate him. They hadn't yet though...

Is that other one that got arrested released already? Because if he isn't, and this guy didnt act alone, it changes everything... I know 2 got arrested and released, and another one arrested...
