She went to Canada in 2006, while she swore in an affidavit she was held against her will since 2005. She lost all credibility with that.

There was a TV program yesterday at Radio-Canada TV called "Enquiry" (they are the ones who discovered the corruption in Montreal and other cities about construction contracts). The Saudi government is "protecting" the husband and there's a lot of mystiry in the case. He has received more than 300,000$ from the Saudi govt. and they hold his passport. He is using his wife and kids as a leverage to come back in Canada and get money. She COULD come back but leave her kids there, even the one born here. So yes, she is being held against her will. She is also beaten and raped.
But the case is very strange. Lawrence Cannon is not allowed to say what is happening. He knows but can't tell.

No, she is not held against her will. SHE CAN LEAVE WHENEVER SHE WANTS. She made the choice not to leave because she doesn't want to leave her kids. That is her CHOICE. Every woman abroad that wants to leave her husband has that same choice. You cannot go back to your motherland with the kids without their father's permission. Even when your kids are born in your former country. The choice is yours then.

Its still her choice, and not kidnapping, and certainly not a government issue.

Proculation Proculation: Well one child is Canadian. Nope. The child is in Saudi Arabia and under Sharia Law. The child is therefore and legally a Muslim and legally a subject of Saud because the father is a Muslim and a Saudi. In this case, so far as Saudi Arabia and Saudi courts care, the child is most definitely not subject to the laws or jurisdiction of an infidel nation.

Its really hard to get your kids out of muslim countries if you are not native of that country.. The man lays claim to the kids. He will probably let her go and keep the kids. Or after he gets the cash ( if he does) he will immigrate

I understand your point but the older child is a Canadian citizen (he was born here). Canada has to help him in a way if he wants to leave with her mother.

ASLplease ASLplease: If Birth place determined citizenship, Obama would not be president Lol. Woops. This is similar to Japan and a few other countries. While it's a problem, I think everyone agrees that it's not the place of the state to restrict who can marry. Canada cannot refuse to recognise marriages between Canadians and citizens from these problem countries.
