[huh] So. How ya gonna know if this 'flu shot' actually works or not? Not everyone is going to contract any strain of flu this year, with or without a shot. I'm thinking that the only way to find out if it helps is if you get the shot, but contract the flu anyway, then I guess it don't work, eh? Cuz, if you do get the shot, and don't contract the flu, does that mean the vaccine works, or is it possible that you weren't going to get the flu anyways?

I'm no doctor and you do not sound like one but if there are reports about the efficiency of the vaccine, there is certainly a way to test it.

I don't really care if you take the vaccine or not. But I care about real information. I don't like when people take decisions based on misinformations.

Also, there's the fact that this virus is very virulent and not getting the vaccine while it's free and easy is increasing the risk to spread the disease to others.

and it's made the same way since decades. the flu vaccine is near 100% safe and we know it. it's not something we have to "wait for". Since it takes some weeks to be fully immunized, waiting for is a bad decision.

After reading three pages, I have to wonder why so many people are so paranoid. Vaccines are not new. The new ones are produced in exactly the same way, using dead virus, using the same additives that have been used for decades.

To date, there is NO PROOF WHATSOEVER that any vaccine over the past 10 -20 years or any of its additives are a cause for any kind of reaction other than for people who have an egg allergy (the vaccine is produced in eggs).

H1N1 is rated pandemic because of its speed of infection. By the end of this season, it’s very likely you WILL catch it. The unknown is why young, healthy people are dying because of it.

Play the odds. No shot, you’re very likely going to be exposed to this particular flu and you will probably experience an illness and spread it to someone else causing the same in someone else. Death isn’t guaranteed nor is a few weeks on a ventilator. In fact you may not experience anything at all and your experience will be seeing a family member or good friend die instead.

Get the shot and you, your family, and your friends will be safe. The odds of a serious side effect is measured in one in the multi-millions.

Nope.

This simply doesn't jive with the experience we had here in Canada when there was no vaccine or that of Australia and new Zealand who also didn't have a vaccine last year and the paranoid claims that it would tax the health system never occured. So to tell people that they will 'probably experience illness' is absurd.
