You haven't heard anything I said. you think I'm being an asshole because I don't tolerate people writing things that I know are 100% wrong. If you think he has courage for running away instead of taking a stand, even if it means some jail time, then we are not even close to sharing the same idea of what is courageous and what is cowardice. No, this is not a good reason at all. This only allows a door that is hard enough as it is to keep shut from opening just a little wider and evoking a flood of new applications to be sent in because of similar reasons. It is a slippery slope and there is zero tolerance when it comes to defining exceptions to service. There were several options open for this man but he chose this one and I dare say it was the wrong one. War is not for the faint of heart the enemy will not expect quarter. Now other troops will be forced to fill in for the oath he broke and last I checked THEY have family too.
