I wonder if it's from the States like 90% of illegal firearms in Canada.

I wouldn't go that far. Hunting rifles have their uses, but I do agree that civilians having military style assault weapons is ridiculous. The only people with a need for such weapons are the military and police.

I'm ok with Hunters having Rifles. That and Target/Sport Shooters, beyond that there's no reason for a Civilian to own a Gun.

There is a ton of things that there is no reason to own but people do. I mean I don't need that new boat but I own one, just like I don't need a ton of weapons but I do own several. Banning things seems to be a leftie trait, the so called "progressives".

It's all about Intent and the results of Intent. If the vast majority treated them as Art and never thought of ever turning one on a fellow Human Being, I simply wouldn't care. Unfortunately there's a pervasive attitude of "Need" to protect oneself from fellow Human Beings. That is where the Law needs to step in and break the cycle.

If it was a knife that's worth the dollars that a machine gun's worth then, yeah, you should report it.

If you care, yes phone the cops and get them to pick it up. If you don't care then you shouldn't be asking ;-)

I worked security for a number of years. After some time you get to know what places to search in your patrols to get results. You get a sense of where to look. I recovered knives, brass knuckles and people's stolen property. Anything stolen during house B&E's to car stereos, bicycles and even stolen autos. Everything was logged, called in and then handed over to police to be returned to it's rightful owners or make it's way to the evidence lock-up. Used syringes with blood were dug up or found and disposed of and the odd small packets of drugs were again handed over to the cops.

So you might think a knife is insignificant but it could have been used in a robbery, an assault (like mine) or was stolen.

so I guess no one really gives two fucks about the feet that have been fished out of the Fraser....As far as I am concerned, IMO, that is more important than this.

We don't need guns.

AN ACTUAL CRAIG'S LIST AD

To the Guy Who Tried to Mug Me in Downtown Savannah night before last.

Date: 2009-05-27, 1:43 a.m. E.S.T.

I was the guy wearing the blackBurberry jacket that you demanded that I hand over, shortly after you pulled the knife on me and my girlfriend, threatening our lives. You also asked for my girlfriend's purse and earrings. I can only hope that you somehow come across this rather important message.

First, I'd like to apologize for your embarrassment; I didn't expect you to actually crap in your pants when I drew my pistol after you took my jacket. The evening was not that cold, and I was wearing the jacket for a reason. My girlfriend had just bought me that Kimber Model 1911 .45 ACP pistol for my birthday, and we had picked up a shoulder holster for it that very evening. Obviously you agree that it is a very intimidating weapon when pointed at your head ... isn't it?!

I know it probably wasn't fun walking back to wherever you'd come from with that brown sludge in your pants. I'm sure it was even worse walking bare-footed since I made you leave your shoes, cell phone, and wallet with me. [That prevented you from calling or running to your buddies to come help mug us again].

After I called your mother or "Momma" as you had her listed in your cell, I explained the entire episode of what you'd done. Then I went and filled up my gas tank as well as those of four other people in the gas station, -- on your credit card. The guy with the big motor home took 150 gallons and was extremely grateful!

I gave your shoes to a homeless guy outside Vinnie Van Go Go's, along with all the cash in your wallet. [That made his day!]

I then threw your wallet into the big pink "pimp mobile" that was parked at the curb ... after I broke the windshield and side window and keyed the entire driver's side of the car.

Later, I called a bunch of phone sex numbers from your cell phone. Ma Bell just now shut down the line, although I only used the phone for a little over a day now, so what 's going on with that? Earlier, I managed to get in twothreatening phone calls to the DA's office and one to the FBI, while mentioning President Obama as my possible target.

The FBI guy seemed really intense and we had a nice long chat (I guess while he traced your number etc.).

In a way, perhaps I should apologize for not killing you ... but I feel this type of retribution is a far more appropriate punishment for your threatened crime. I wish you well as you try to sort through some of these rather immediate pressing issues, and can only hope that you have the opportunity to reflect upon, and perhaps reconsider, the career path you've chosen to pursue in life. Remember, next time you might not be so lucky.Have a good day!

Thoughtfully yours,

Alex

P.S. Remember this motto ... An armed society makes for a more civil society!¡¡

I probably don't have to ask you to forward this one.

The thing is, this can be tied to a number of different shootings that may or may not have resulted in deaths.
The feet really can only represent one death, and without identification, their just another missing persons. The fact that many of them are showing up as mens feet makes me believe these are just casualties of the drug wars.

Don't tell me you knew I was talking about. Do you know how many people in this world know something about knives? So few it's sad.

You never know what you may find. Remember that search they conducted years ago in Vancouver's Stanley Park for any clues for the "Babes in the Wood" case. Along with the objects, they found seperately a sawed-off shotgun used in a previous robbery and a rape kit.

Vancouver is a very happening place. 8O

Why not just make murder mandatory life no parole and then at least the crap doe's not get back on the street. If you are an accessory to the fact 15 no bullshit whining about how hard life has been and 1 appeal of your conviction . Then maybe we can go back to people had guns but people also had common sense .

Sorry, but there is no rationale reason a civilian needs an assault rifle (or any other weapon designed solely for the purpose of killing other people).

If you want to hunt, a good Winchester 30-06 is just as good (if not better) than an M-16 or AK-47, while a Desert Eagle is basically useless (unless you're stupid enough to explore caves looking for bears to kill, in which case Darwinian evolution will apply eventually anyways).

If you're looking for a weapon for home defence, a shotgun is a far better tool, as you generally don't have to worry about the buckshot going through the drywall and killing the very loved ones you're trying to protect.

I have yet to hear of a good reason you or I NEED an AK-47 or M-16 or MAC-11.

Dude, where did I say a citizen should have an AK, M-16, etc? I don't support that at all. congrats on wasting 2 minutes trying to debate with someone that has the same ideas as you.

Canadian_Mind Canadian_Mind:
but limiting weapons access to law-abiding citizens wont change that.

Sorry, my bad, I thought this was disagreement...
