kenmore kenmore:
I never favoured a coaltion.. And not to worry there bodah, they won't be in power next time around...

Yeah, People are going to flock to a party with a leader who spent 34 years of his life not living here. I sure as hell wouldn't even if it was a Conservative.

But some parties can put a red sweather on a pig, and people would still vote for the pig.

$1:
“If I am not elected, I imagine that I will ask Harvard to let me back,” Ignatieff said. “I love teaching here, and I hope I’ll be back in some shape or form.”

For Ruez.. The Conservative Party of Canada won the greatest number of seats: 40.3% of seats, or 124 out of 308, up from 99 seats in 2004, and 36.3% of votes: up from 29.6% in the 2004 election. The election resulted in a minority government led by the Conservative Party.... 36.3% of the votes... elementary school math..
but guess like most tory stories.. inflated by bullshit ads 20% give or take.

and yes its from wikki.. did'nt want to bore anyone with the sordid details.

I imagine if Harper spent 5 years living in the states and the rest in the UK. You would be able to get over it ? Don't think so.

Many people cant get over the fact that Harper lived in western Canada. Prime Mininisters are supposed to be from eastern Canada only.

The NDP. Turning "have" provinces into "have nots" since the beginning of time.

Perhaps, but I was thinking of the years the NDP was in power in British Columbia.

perhaps, but when I think of BC, i can't help but think of the butchery that was done to the healthcare system by the BC Liberals.

I have friends that live in communities that used to have a hospital, now when they call the ambulance, a dispatch office 9 hours (drive) away dispatches an ambulance from out of town(1.2 hour drive each way) that will drive into town, pick you up, and drive you back to their original location...at your cost, no less.

Mr_Canada Mr_Canada:
The whole story of this election sounds exciting as hell.

I'll be watching.

I'm truly hoping there will be nothing to see here. At the eleventh hour I'm still refusing to believe my fellow Nova Scotians have developed shit for brains [bash]

The Tories have hit a new low, as far as some of the attacks that they've done and I don't think Nova Scotians are buying it,” Whynott said. "quote" Don't hold your breath wanting the tories to stop their ads that are viscous and in most cases unfounded.. tories are lower than a snakes belly in a wagon rut... true low lifes.. hope NS goes lib though, but even the NDP would be better than tory

We can’t seem to get it right out here at all. The “Liberals” are actually Conservatives. The NDP swings between Liberal and NDP. Everyone else has disappeared.

The one thing we can be sure of in BC is that the ruling government will be voted out because of a scandal and the incoming government will blame the outgoing for not being able to fulfil their promises.

I was working in Manitoba in the 70’s when the NDP was quite popular, and I have family that were in Ontario when Rae surprised everyone and formed a government. Even with the “Rae Days” they thought the NDP were actually very pragmatic. All of the left leaning plans went out the window when they actually had to run the province. Most provincial NDP parties have come a long way from their socialist roots. I’m not so sure about the federal party though.
