Canadian_Mind is a Troop, EyeBrock.

No disrespect but the profile says soon to be qualified as a CF trooper.
.. and just as many socialists grow up and become more experienced, I expect his political opinions will mature also.

But everyone has their own opinion.

Why the fuck is there a pissing contest over what I do for a living?

I've been at regiment for only half a year, enough time to have voted once, and change my opinion after. It's everyones right. I just hapened to forget to change my profile. Note that even after 4 or 5 years on here that i still haven't given myslef an avatar and only have aroun 2650* posts. I'm not on enough to pay attention to this shit.

As for my specific political opinion, in the end it doesn't matter what my political opinion is, I do what I'm told. If one looks further into my profile you'll see I support the NDP, Conservatives, Liberals, and Greens. Every party has things I like and things I don't like.

In reality, no one should know what the military's true feelings are with respect to any political party. Non Disclosure Agreements are wonderful things.

As for military socialism, there is plenty of it. My dental and medical plans are alot better than most peoples, as are my pension plans, the death and injury benifits plans, they'll pay for my education, etc. The military is full of socialism, so Eyebrock, I respectfully ask that you kill the comments with regards to socialists in the military. Because whether we personally like it or not, we are living the most socialist lifestyle in the country.

*edited cause I forgot how many posts I had.

And you are but are you a socialist because of it? And I detect a political attitude change.
And looking after our troops goes back to Roman times. Having a well paid, well fed and well looked after military is the way to go. It's hardly socialism. Check the definition again.

Allmost 3/4ths of the peeps from my hometown that fought in ww2 were card carrying communists and they fought for Canada.

Things must have changed.

Whether I want to be one or not, yes. I live and breath socialism daily, it's a part of every paycheque, a part of every time I get injured and need medical treatment, every dental appointment, etc.

What I originally hope to accomplish was to show that in the CF, not everyone supports the conservatives, and that like everywhere else people's opinions change, got blown out of the water into something relating to my job and my specific opinions. It's a fine line, and it is not a line I have alot of comfort in crossing. Thats why you might have seen me change my tune. ;)

It was only a few years ago that the town council renamed a street that was named after Tim Buck the Communist.
Their idea of socialism is different then todays, they actually believed it would work and it might if you could keep the corruption out of it but thats impossible.

Maybe left of centre! We all start off as socialists then we get a reality check! I was well left but 10 years of the job changed my views.

And for those who want to do the math.. My granddad was born in 1897.. came here in 1911..age 14..married at 18 in 1915 and my father was born in 1916... yep shot gun..
Anyway I actually had 3 sets of grand parents as these two divorced and remarried.
And oddly enough my british grandmother married a frenchman... go figure..

I used to hate Ralph Klien, but now I respect the man.
