RUEZ RUEZ:
OPP OPP:
Proculation Proculation:
And nobody would have noticed a nuclear explosion ?

Come on...

I don't know what the U.S has in it's arsenal today, the Bikini testing was in 1954.
The Bermeja Island doesn't seem to have been a very large Island and a much smaller blast could have been sufficient. The Mexican governments over the years have been very corrupted and it's possible there was some sort of cover up within the Mexican government. Money can make a lot of things disappear. Not just people.

Your anti-americanism makes me laugh.

They have done far wors things in the past than they are being accused of here. So, laugh all you want. The islands still gone.

I have read it is 80 km2. It's small but it's still 9x9 km.

Btw, you can't hide a nuclear explosion. Even if it's small.

There are ways to detect nuclear weapons testing but there certainly are ways of conceiling them aswell, not saying this is the case here. But in order to detect that a weapon such as the hydrogen bomb has been used, if you do not witness the event itself, you must search for evidence of such. If you don't, then how are you supposed to know that it has?
Checking data from seismographs in the region is a good way to start, I suppose, and if radioactive fall out had been detected in the area.

They need to countersue because those mexicans keep causing the Missisipi river to keep shifting around also.

This is madness OPP.

I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility but there are probably a lot more (and really do mean a lot more) plausible explanations for this. Maybe the island was sinking/eroding to begin with.

Well, I don't think it is. Peak oil was reached a long time ago and this is much closer to home than the middle east and easier to come by than future findings in the north pole, if they even have a legit claim.

There are reports of Islands across the globe threatened by the rising sea levels but we're talking 40+ metres here?!
If the Island eroded, as you suggest, then that's a first for me. I have never come across reports of an entire Island collapsing in on itself and disappearing. That's definitely a first for me.

Well the US blowing up an entire island just to get oil rights is a first for me as well.

Well, there's always the hydrogen bomb.

Right, judging from the info you gave me. If a hydrogen bomb was used than wouldn't somebody detect it/see it? You'd think that would be detected if something like that exploded.

Than there is the fact that the CIA would actually detonate one just to deny the mexicans a trade resource? I don't buy it.

But it wouldn't be the first time an Island was obliterated by a nuclear weapon. ;)

OPP would believe the National Enquirer if it meant he could blame the US for something.

Undetected modern nuclear explosion, yes.

Undetected modern nuclear explosion, yes.

We don't know that yet. And of all the nuclear tests made over the years, you're claiming all of them we're so evident that it's not possible that they could have been done in secret?
