Yeah I read it and I didn't see it, so....I'm going to go with the "Putting Words in my Mouth." Condition I see quite often on this site. I didn't actually check the link before typing them....so yeah, my apologies as well.

Conditions I see quite often as well....No worries Dude, Cheers [B-o]

Blahhh I hate fucking waking up.

Anyway, back to the original story, somewhat depressing, but I'd really want to know why they were shot

Well the Guildford shooting, I am assuming, is in relation to the massacre that happened in Surrey, where six people died and two were mear innocent bystanders. This Baldini kid apparently subletted the apartment out to gang bangers, I am assuming again, friends/associates of his. The women I havent heard anymore on the story, but it is early morning and havent read the news yet.

I have an idea for a new TV show.
"Survival Island - Gang wars"
Dump 2 or more gangs with no weapons on a deserted island.
No need to vote, the last one standing wins.

I know, it's been done before in the movies but the real inspiration for me is an old Genesis song "The battle of Epping Forest".

Now I need to figure out what the prize will be for the winner.
Anybody here have same good ideas?

$1:
METRO VANCOUVER — A man gunned down in the parking lot of Guildford Town Centre Tuesday was the same person who rented the Surrey penthouse where six people were brutally murdered in October 2007, The Vancouver Sun has learned.

Raphael Baldini had appeared in Vancouver Provincial Court earlier Tuesday on assault and uttering threats charges laid in October 2008.

He was also facing a series of gun charges filed against him in November 2007, just weeks after six people — including innocent bystanders Chris Mohan and Ed Schellenberg — were shot execution-style in suite 1505 of the Balmoral Tower, which Baldini had been renting.

But his mommy said he was such a good boy..

If you read the article, it sounds like that whole building might as well be a prison.

They recently had that anti-gang meeting in Surrey and the police were suggesting that local businesses refuse to do business with gang members. Are the police and the justice industry going to hand out wavers when these poor businesses get sued for discrimination, or will they even bother to show up when these local businesses are vandalized, burgled or catch fire in the middle of the night?

The best way to get rid of Gang Violence is to Starve them to Death. Legalized Drugs, all of them. I'm so sick of this and the perverted War on Drugs that just benefits the Violent Underground Economy.

Aside from the fact that there's no real proof that decriminalization has worked, there's the sticky issue of trade. Canada enjoys a very privilaged trade with the US because we have similar laws and customs. Most illegal drugs are already destined for the larger US market and legalization is going to directly affect the flow of goods across the border.
Our border would look like Mexico's in a month.

I doubt anyone wants to play "social engineer" with the economy at this time.

Prohibition.

That said, yes, the US and potential friction is why we Canadians haven't abandoned the WoD already. Hell, we almost Legalzed 40 years ago and if we did the US would have finally backed down after seeing that the Universe didn't implode.

"Social Engineering"? WTF?

So prohibition was a bad thing, right?

Prohibition made millions for a handfull of Canadians who took legal Canadian booze and sold for big money into the US where it was still illegal.

Now you suggest we legalize drugs and...

..a handfull of Canadians who take legal Canadian drugs and sell it for big money into the US where it is still illegal.

.. and this is somehow a good thing?

Prohibition was a bad thing. When was the last time Organized Crime shot up a neighbourhood over the Whiskey Trade?

But are you not just going to be setting up exactly the same conditions all over again except with drugs?

Folks are already getting shot for legal cigarettes and there is still an underground industry for booze so the legality issue obviously isn't the solution.

Everyone immediately assumes this is about home grown weed...guess again folks this is about the big boys...Heroin, Cocaine, Guns and 'exported Cars'. This is the big money makers, weed is absolutely nothing on the playing field, ya it gets sold for big bucks in the states, but these bad boys are dealing in shit that most never want to touch...yet it is big business here and everywhere. This is the 'High Life' lower Mainland, we have alot of people living here and coming here, to visit, that have the cash to live the lifestyle. This isnt about street level this is about the money way and nothing more.
