lily lily:
Oh sure, blame her aides. Which ones? The ones who tried to brief her before her interview with Katie Couric?
Granted, her telephone interview with "Sarkozy" should never have been allowed, but had it been real, would she have taken her aides to task? No. She accepted the call with all the star-struck wonder she could muster. Her aides weren't telling her what to say - she chose on her own to agree with comments she (hopefully) didn't understand, and she chose to gush about his lovely wife who had enlivened his country.
Did her aides tell her to say that creationism should be taught alongside evolution in science class? Did her aides tell her to showcase her son with Down's Syndrome while halving funds to Alaska's Special Olympics?
She chose to present herself as a hockey mom, so is it anyone's fault but her own that that's exacly what she is?
Who can we trust? Honestly? You pin the blame totally on Palin, when articles after that article stated that she said "FUCK YOU" to the aides after that, and did better in interviews. So let's see. We have either Palin, trying to protect her reputation from those aides, or the aides, who butchered her during the campaign and after, blaming her for the loss.
Seriously Lily. You put your faith in these perfect aides who have absolutely no name recognition? Palin is the scapegoat, and wrongly so. She probably did what her handlers said, and her handlers fumbled over and over.
Also, what's with this showcasing of her family? The showcasing started like with all campaigns, Obama did it, and so did McCain, so what? "Oh shit he has Downs syndrome, let's hide him in the closet to be perfect"...Right. And so what if she halved the money for the Special Olympics in her state? Does that make her a horrible person?
And you do realize that her creationism in schools is a gross exaggeration of her beliefs.
" Couric: Should creationism be allowed to be taught anywhere in public schools?
Palin: [I] Don’t have a problem at all with kids debating all sides of theories, all sides of ideas that they ever - kids do it today whether … it’s on paper, in a curriculum or not. Curriculums also are best left to the local school districts. Instead of Big Brother, federal government telling a district what they can and can’t teach, I would like to see more control taken over by our school boards, by our local schools, and then state government at the most. But federal government, you know, kind of get out of some of this curriculum and let the locals decide what is best for their students."
Oh God the horror. If kids bring it up, why not discuss it? Wow, that's so saying we should be teaching it in schools. I never realizing crushing debate and discussion was so great.
Seriously, the election is ended, and people are still peddling this bullshit. It's insane
Edit: Actually Lily, here.
http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008 ... palin.html"Palin did not cut funding for special needs education in Alaska by 62 percent. She didn’t cut it at all. In fact, she increased funding and signed a bill that will triple per-pupil funding over three years for special needs students with high-cost requirements."
That's for your Special needs funding too.
Palin did not cut funding for special needs education in Alaska by 62 percent. She didn’t cut it at all. In fact, she increased funding and signed a bill that will triple per-pupil funding over three years for special needs students with high-cost requirements.
See, what simple research does? But of course, ignore research, ignorance is bliss.
