Well said from a man who lives in a province dependent on OIL for existance.. just like the Bush family... made in america terrorism

Considering your home province is taking in 8 billion in transfer payments, it looks like they are dependent on oil as well. It must suck being dependent on English Canada.

Because it is so unintelligent the only way I can reply to such utter BS is to be an asshole. At least then I get a giggle out of it. Damn me seeing the glass as half full XD

you live in a country dependent on natural resources for it's economic existence.

Every country is dependent on natural resources for its economic existence. We are just lucky we don't have to import lots.

now if we could just get him to take stevie with him...

Not so long as the Canadian people keep electing him.

I wouldnt exactly call 53% of people who voted the Canadian people.. fact is he got in (didnt win anything) by defualt.. an apathetic group gave him a few more points .. but not popular vote by a long shot.

Well if people were so disillusioned with Harper that they wouldn't vote for him it sure speaks volumes of the opposition parties if people couldn't even be bothered to show up to vote against him. If anything the low voter turn out is more of a commentary on the opposition than it was on the Conservatives.

Ok, then not so long as the Canadian people who can be bothered to get off their lazy asses and vote keep electing him.

Those who didn't vote have zero right to bitch because they didn't even bother to participate in the process.

Actually, I think as long as one pays their taxes they have a right to bitch. I used to think that they didn't but then someone so eloquently expressed that they could not involve themselves in a process which democratically elects someone and then hands them dictatorial power.

I thought that Harper was somewhat preparing for an Obama win when he was discussing the possibilities of Canadian troops being removed from Afghanistan but he may have really just been trying to satiate the public.

mtbr has a wonderful method of emoting ultra-conservative spin while keeping the blinders on to reality and while taking every shot possible at 'lefties' just because they haven't fell over on their face to the right. The fact is that if the USA was ever fighting terrorism then they would not have went into Iraq. The terrorists are in Pakistan and freely cross the border into Afghanistan and back because they know that they are untouchable in that regard.

The USA has been in Iraq because money is more important than the truth (or the 'peace'/loss of it that they used to scare the American people with).

Anyone can say what they want about the rose-coloured lenses that the 'lefties' wear but they don't block out as much as the blindfolds that the righties have duct-taped around their eyes.

The only province that depends on oil is Quebec as what Alberta has as a surplus is ALL given to Quebec in transfer payments.

Get your finger out of your arse and go to work by rounding up all those caribou near Ungava Bay and export genuine Quebec caribou skin bindings for mukluks or better yet, genuine Quebec fake moustaches made from caribou fur.

Absolutely bizarre. The representation of Conservative zealots on this board is equal to that of the insane members.

Coincidence?

I think not-they seem to be one and the same.
