o.k. ziggy, start up a manufacturing company of jeans, and compete against a country like China that has slave labor, communist and currupt government.

Or Mexico, where they have no polution controls and people earn $1 a day so big corporations can make obscene profits off the backs of the poor.

I know you don't have a 100 million, so scrapping NAFTA won't effect you.

Canada did fine before NAFTA and will do fine after NAFTA.

i remember when they tried the protectionist thing for their coal mines,we said ok and found markets all over the world like brazil and other places that never bought canadian coal before. Now the states is our lowest customer and they take a fraction of our coal to blend with theres, they had to subsidize all their mines and lots of people eventually lost their jobs as these huge mines started shutting down when the govt. money ran out.Now they beg for contracts but sorry, were obligated to china and other countries that believe in freer trade.

Just an example.

Wow, great example Ziggy.

So they opened up their own coal mines and created new jobs for the US marketplace.

They have many clean coal burning plants in Texas.. and vast resources of coal in the USA.

Why the fuck would the import from Canada. So you just proved that protectionism works for the USA.

Most of their mines arent profitable or they wouldnt be subsidized and our coal in BC is the cleanest in the world, the reason they like it is they can blend it with their high ash product and actually make it useable instead of burning it as dirty coal for thermal power generation.Say what you want but we used to ship over 4 million tonnes to detroit a year for blend coal for steel and now it's down to about 100,000 tonnes. So there cost of ROM coal went up after they stopped buying ours,Now we sell for 4 times the price and dont need the US market to survive and our mines make money.

And America has some of the dirtiest coal on the continent, spend over 22 years in the industry and you would know that.

Most of their mines are also not exactly very safe, you can search American fatalgrams to see how many die in them every year.
