Keep parrotting the lie, rev. Maybe some will believe it.

Meanwhile, Jack's own turf of Toronto is up to the 59th homicide of the year.
How's that registry working out for you fools? Good thing that lax drug crime policy is keeping the jail population down.

Reverend Blair Reverend Blair:
The gun registry has a huge amount of support in urban areas, Ruez. The police feel it does help to reduce crime and have said so. The majority of Canadians support it.

No...not where I live, it's actually the opposite.

Where do you get all that erroneous info from, can't be from Canada.

I would say so. Haven't found a Canadian YET rural or urban that supports the gun registry.

Don't forget, it isn't 'just' a gun registry, it imposes draconian laws against firearm owners that violate the charter.

there is more baggage in C-68 that just 'registration' of firearms.

59, eh? and the Conservatives have been in power for over two years now? Not doing a great job on the crime front, are they?

Really, ridenrain, it's like shooting fish in a barrel with you. You've got a memory of, like, four days.

Well, I guess I wouldn't be "shooting" fish in barrel, unless I registered the gun.

Sorry Rev--I'm a liberal (note: no capital "L") and I don't like the gun registry. I don't think it's effective and it needlessly aggravated a lot of people.

Then even a Liberal will remember when Harper issued that ultimatum To Liberal-dominated senate to get the crime bill passed. For all of the talk on crime, you folks have done jack shit.

Oh, don't apologize, Zip. The NDP has been split on this issue from the beginning, especially in the west. I actually started out on the other side of it. The difference is that a civil conversation can be had with members of the NDP about it. When you bring up things like the problem of sawed-off long guns and hand gun crime they generally have alternate solutions. Same with the domestic abuse problem.

Mention it around a Conservative and it's like talking to an NRA member.

See, the problem is that Conservatives are so used to being in Opposition, they can't deal with being in power. When you're IN power, no one wants to hear you blaming the opposition as to why nothing gets done. That's the opposition's job.

Those 59 people in Toronto have all been killed under a Conservative government. No one wants to hear "pass the buck."

If you want to be in power, then you should be prepared to accept the responsiblilty that goes with it.

No visable effect on the illegal handguns used by the drug trade in Toronto, Winnipeg or Vancouver. In fact, after a decade of appointing Liberal judges, the problem is actually looking far worst.

Can we start putting the bad guys with the guns in jail now?

Again, with the shirking of responsibility. You've had two years in power to "put bad guys in jail." You're asking for another Conservative mandate, but for what--so in two more years you can ask if you can start putting bad guys in jail now? If you're in power you don't criticize, you do, you don't ask, you do.

At what point do you decide to be big boys and step up to the plate and take some responsibility?

What timetable do you think is appropriate? Like say for instance if a gun registry doesn't work after 12 years.

Which part of the disfuctional Liberal dominated senate and un-elected Liberal judges didn't you get?
