I only value swimming and rowing sports as a true sports in the summer olympics...now if they put Field Lacrosse in the summer games I would consider it real games.

The summer games are ghey and these games should never have taken place or we should have backed out...ghey!!!

Dedicating your life to something like gymnastics is simply retarded when you know that a single step forward at the end of your routine can cost you a standing.

How is that different from anything else in life?

The Chinese have twice as many GOLD medals, which is how everyone in the world EXCEPT the US measure Olympic success....

Absolute bullshit...EVERY country that's not leading in gold
medals measures success by total medals. You think Australia
DIDN'T consider themselves in third place, even though they weren't
third in golds as of Friday ?
Anti-American bias is one piss-poor debating point.
It's a lot like penis envy. Find a Doctor Phil someplace.

I'm sure Canada has a lot to be proud of without worrying about the number of medals that countries with steroid filled athlletes have won. Just have a look at the countries that lead the medal count, do you really want to be compared with them?

Why is Phelps considered the greatest Olympian of all time? Because he has 14 GOLD medals, not 14 medals...otherwise Russian Larissa Latynina would have that honour (18 medals).

Of course Australia thinks it's third. Check the Olympic website, not the US or Aussie or Canadian Olympic websites, but the one run by the Olympic Committee. They measure success by GOLD medals.

$1:
The IOC medal tally chart is based on the number of gold medals for country. Where states are equal, the number of silver medals (and then bronze medals) are counted to determine rankings.

Canada is a lousy sports nation.

I think they should put tetherball, ice fishing and Go Fish into the Olympics so we can pad our medal count.
