Fuck the 2010 Olympics

Why?

i can think of what the billions of dollars spent that can go to....social housing=to offset the homeless problem in this PROVINCE...to treatment to offset the ADDICTION problem in in this province...and the fact that the general population cannot afford a ticket to any of the games...those are just a few of the issues. Our cost of housing has gone up at least a 1/4 since the announcement of the games could be another. And the fact that i am a taxpayer in this province that does not support an event that just boasts the politicians could be another. Is that enough or would you like more?

I dont want the Olympics...never have...the rest of Canada may be proud of the fact but are you taking the brunt of it? ...i dont think so.

The reason that we have billions of dollars to put towards the Olympics is from all the taxes that we've gained from Olympic related spending. Kinda paradoxical isn't it? but it's the truth. The number one reason why BC's economy is doing so well is the Olympics. It is what has saved BC from the same fate as the manufacturing industry of Ontario, cause everything else in BC is slowing down, forestry, mining (up till last year), movie industry, etc.

As for all the homeless, they can go out and get a job. They don't need people to buy their houses for them, which they just trash and destroy and congregate to do their drugs at anyways. Fuck, I joined the military with zero qualifications, and am currently banking 1400 a month while being trained to do my job. Room and board is covered by the CF, they make sure of it. if any of those guys made it to grade ten, or if they can pass a couple butt-fucking easy tests, they can get in. I don't think I'd want an unmotivated bum in my tank crew, but if he/she applies himself well, then how am i going to notice?

For those that think they are to dumb to make it, there is always the infantry looking for members.

There is that...

Something I would love to see that so far hasn't really been done... at least not here in Gagetown or in CFLRS is soldiers who would normally be medically released from battle injuries be sent to the schools as instructors.

i really wish that Hillier, in the canadian armed forces, would really shut his crap house, and let the airforce deal with it... I honestly think that the army is dumb, and i think that people that are trained outside of dumb infanteer bullcrap should be commended... Every soldier can shoot a gun, its about the guys at the trained level to manage him... puppet.

Wow buddy, thanks for dissing my Boss. So kindly shut the fuck up.

Secondly, your post looks like mindless dribble. What is the airforce going to do to a suicide bomber in Robson square or GM place? not a whole shit lot by themselves. what they can do is provide information to ground units about suspected targets, as well as assist the navy in dealing with any naval threats. They also protect teh skies from airborne threats.

Its the boots on the ground that get the job done, most notably the Infanteer's. The running joke may be that they are dumb as bricks (and unfortunately, many are), but they are in the most dangerous position. When I'm in Van sitting in a Coyote Recce vehicle or a tank, nothing is going to cause me a lot of harm save for a bridge collapse, but the regular boot-on-the-ground guy is the guy who's going to get turned to pink mist by that explosion. Does alot for good for his family.

Thanks for the commendation, it's not wanted.
