Another sellout of Canadian sovereignty by the CPC. What a surprise.

How is that when Harper wasn't in power when Canadian troops and sailors helped out in New Orleans? Looks to me this is only formalizing a reality that existed well before Harper came along.

3 months ago a squadron of CF-18's from Bagotville were sent to Alaska because all of their F-15's were grounded due to a crash. This was done under NORAD!!

Following this link:

http://husky1.stmarys.ca/~evanderveen/w ... ations.htm

If you read through just the first section, you will realize that this has been going on since 2002 and isnt just the CPC, the LPC is neck deep as well!!

Has any of you Harper haters stopped to realize just how large our country is and how under-populated it is? If a major quake hit the west coast our military would never be able to deal with the aftermath!!!!!

These knob gobblers don't seem to understand that is exactly how NORAD operated for decades. Good neighbours/friends/family help each other out when there are problems too big for each to handle on their own.

The Harper haters likely havent been out of the city they live in.
Canada's freaking HUGE! Flying from the east to west coast I was amazed at how huge, flying North of Churchill just blew me away at how huge Canada is.Hours upon hours of flying in a 747 and never seeing a light underneath except the odd small community of 20 or so.

Yellowknife to Rankin, maybe its a 707. Usually it's too fucking cold to look at the plane when your running the 1/4 mile to the boarding ladder with a -65 windchill. I cant push those people at the top of the boarding ladder ahead fast enough. fuck! get your fucking newspaper later! I'm freezing to the ladder here.

Likely a 707 - 737, DC 7 or DC 9. A 747 is something I fly on between Hong Kong and Vancouver..... if you are unlucky and fly Air Canada you may end up in a shitty little Airbus with cranky OLD flight attendants like I did.....once. Cathay Pacific is the only way to go.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the other night it was said that the American deficit is 30 plus Billion. Their amount owing is over 3 Trillion. Later that night, it was stated that their Air Force required more Government financial support.

They are not able to recruit the numbers they need so many are repeating tours numerous times.

The country is stressed.

As hostility mounts on the globe, I feel that all of us in North America are at risk. Do they know something they aren't telling us ? Or, are they preparing for the possibilities of a strike?

Maybe support is needed from both sides in case of natural disasters, who knows.

One thing I feel is true though, if we don't support each other we will become more of a target.

How is that selling out? Was America selling out when we sent firefighters to the WTC or when we sent troops to New Orleans? Fuck no. You're such a fucking douchebag.

If we're going to rely on the US military to manage situations within our borders then Canadian sovereignty is compromised, never mind that American forces wouldn't even be under Canadian command.

Pretty easy stuff to understand, really.
Just like Canadian forces heading down the the states would be under Canadian command, not American. Also, if fucknuts like you weren't so anti-military, we wouldn't need America's help in defending our own borders.

You're a idiot, you really think America would call for 'Canadian' Military support? They would call for there own Military, that's why they have it. They have there National Gaurd that deals with situations like that. Seeing as how Canada doesn't have a big army. If anything, we will be calling for Military support from America.

Now, America's military sucks at peace keeping. From Iraq, they aren't the best Police Officers either. You really think its going to be great having American Military on Canadian soil policing areas? Rofl, if they would have been under Canadian command while there on our territory then maybe that would be something different but I detest the idea of having American Troops policing situations in Canadian territory.

This should be strictly Firefighter/Police only, with leaving the Military out of it. I am not against this helping each other out bit, but having American Military on Canadian Soil does make me a bit anxious.

Also America helps us defend our borders? Since when? They protect THERE borders that leads from America to Canada territory, Don't think they are protecting any borders that aren't Also American which means? There there to protect there borders, not ours.

I think some people have the idea that this gives the Americans some right to come here if and when they please and do as they like. I can't say this for certain but I imagine the U.S. military would only be on Canadian soil under the invitation of the Canadian government for purposes such as civil disasters. Even though they wouldn't be under direct Canadian command certainly their commanders would be taking direction from Ottawa. But by all means whip out the tin foil and spin some theories.

Protecting their borders 8O

Don't think they're very good at that. Just ask any American from the South. They have been complaining for quite some time that some terrorist have come in through Mexico, since they couldn't point the finger at us.
