I also believe in a democratic world, one where individual nations can choose their own furture without international interference. The US and major EU powers have shown a lack of foresight as to the effects of such interference on the rest of the world and the nations in question!

Most of them don't give a shit as long as there is a dollar to be made. It is only a small minority of people who actually want independence. Most prefer maintaining the staus quo with eventual unification with the PRC.

This problem goes back centuries. With today's niceities it wouldn't be possible to rectify them. Large pockets of Muslims remained in the Balklans even after the Ottomans were removed. Catholics and Orthodox Christians took turns commiting atrocities against each other when the Muslims weren't beating on them. These old hatreds and grudges carry on to this day. Yugoslavia and Tito rather than erasing these etrhnic hatreds only allowed them to fester, resulting in the quagmire we have today.

Kosovo as such has no claim to be independent.. as we have no need to support it.

these small events are dangerous from the point that they could spark something bigger..

The US needs to gets its people out of Serbia, soon.. US Steel has a major plant in Serbia, that could be next..

and imagine if the marines in the embassy shoot a Serb in self defense.
