OMG I agree with Brah for once!

I'm sure we collected more than a couple billion off the income tax of the workers that kept their jobs the last 10 years. Could you even imagine the cost of EI benefits paid out to maybe 100,000 in all the related jobs that would've been lost?
And having only ONE domestic brand with zero competition?
2000 to 2010 was the biggest hit since we lost all the 1954-1964 brands. Olds, Pontiac, Saturn, Mercury, Plymouth, Hummer....
shit I still miss those funky AMC offerings, IHC trucks and even Fargos!

BRAH BRAH:
Bailing out Chrysler and GM was still the right thing to do.

Yes it was but, what wasn't right was the bullshit they fed to the public claiming that GM had paid back the loan when they just used more taxpayers money to make it look like they payed off the first loan. What else that isn't right is the writing off of the Fiat Chrysler loan when the parent company was well on the way to paying off their debt on their own.

What the gov't is doing is giving out large Bombardier style corporate payouts that ensure the executives will get their bonus's. Hell if the gov't was so keen on "saving jobs" where the hell were they when companies like Sears, Eaton's and Target went belly up? They had employees that paid taxes to.
