Who cares where we evolved from? Interesting to know but that's about it.

Tricks Tricks: Wait he admitted to that? I knew he had a weird problem with NASA, but figured he could at worst be a moon landing denier. I have him on ignore so I don't see a lot of his incoherent ramblings. Yes, when we were discussing North Korean missiles, he thought if you fired a missile straight up it would stay there and not come back down. I forget which later thread he basically tossed off the idea that things orbit the Earth, and came out as a flat earther. It made my week.

fifeboy fifeboy: DrCaleb DrCaleb: You could mate an Arctic Fox and a Chihuahua, and get viable puppies. Just because it looks different on the outside doesn't mean it is different on the inside.
Ahh...really??? It's an assumption. I know you can mate wolves and dogs, wolves and coyotes, and coyotes and foxes. So I make the assumption foxes and dogs can mate, as there have been unconfirmed reports in the past. Heck, DNA says my sisters dog is part Alaskan Malamute and part Dachshund. (think about the logistics there! ) So if those two can get it on, I don't see an Arctic Fox and Chihuhua as impossible. The point being though, that outward appearance does not equal significant genetic difference.

It was his use of the Flat Earther term 'curvizon' here that outed him as a Flat Earther. current-events-f59/how-to-watch-the-blue-moon-lunar-eclipse-t120704.html#p2272871

The point being though, that outward appearance does not equal significant genetic difference. I would be very surprised if one could interbreed between genera to produce viable offspring. I left my studies before the introduction of cladistics, but foxes and the members of the genus Canis have different numbers of chromosomes. This would be a problem. Your core argument about outward appearance stands though.

I think it's safe to say he's the dumbest person on this board now.

Let me make myself perfectly clear here, when I use the expression “my dog’s bigger than your dog,” dog is not being used as a euphemism. I’m not THAT immature!

Tricks Tricks: I think it's safe to say he's the dumbest person on this board now. I don't think anyone is dumb. He's just fallen in to the trap of believing his own 'common sense' is infallible and therefore everyone else is wrong. The very thing science removes from the equation - our own opinions - is the very thing he relies on for information about the world. All we have to do is find the point at which his 'common sense' is overridden by actual facts, and he might sill have the epiphany needed to rejoin the rest of us in 'reality'. I'm guessing they didn't teach the Scientific Method in his school.

He's just fallen in to the trap of believing his own 'common sense' is infallible and therefore everyone else is wrong. Isn't that a textbook definition for stupidity? $1: All we have to do is find the point at which his 'common sense' is overridden by actual facts, and he might sill have the epiphany needed to rejoin the rest of us in 'reality'. Can you override it with facts when all facts that conflict with his "common sense" are fake?
