It's really amazing how quickly and completely you adopt whatever the hell Trump tweets as sacred doctrine.

This program makes sense. Its purpose is to combat the US settling into the same system Canada has, where massive numbers of people come over from the same countries year after year and establish large, ethnic communities of, in effect, foreigners. It spreads around immigration to other countries which don't produce many immigrants. Canada should do the same thing, actually. Most of our immigrants come from a handful of countries like Pakistan, China, the Philippines and India.

This guy didn't arrive as a crazed terrorist. He was radicalized in the US since arrival by viewing stuff on the internet.

And none of that happened. First reports said a couple of truck drivers were fighting and one wound up running over a few cyclists. Within an hour it was pretty clear it was a terrorist attack, and the attacker was quickly identified as a Muslim.

The White House said Wednesday that it considers the New York terrorist attacker to be an enemy combatant, a status which would make him subject to military justice.

“I believe we would consider this person to be an enemy combatant, yes,” said White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. “I think the actions that he took certainly justify that.”

Terrorist suspect Sayfullo Saipov, a native of Uzbekistan, is accused of killing eight people and injuring 11 others by mowing them down with a rented truck on a bike path in lower Manhattan Tuesday. President Trump said he would consider sending Mr. Saipov to the Guantanamo Bay terrorist detention center. Mrs. Sanders said the president “wasn’t necessarily advocating for it.”

Asked about the president’s call for quicker and tougher justice in terrorism prosecutions, Mrs. Sanders said Mr. Trump “was simply expressing his frustration” with the lengthy legal process that often comes with such cases.

Here's something that occurred to me. This guy, this terrorist, used a truck, wanted to kill a lot of people. Where was his automatic rifle? Where was his bumper stock? Why didn't he shoot all the people when he got out of the truck? Because had no guns. Why did the guy who ran into the cop in Edmonton try to steal the cop's gun? Cause he had no gun and couldn't get one. Why did the guy who invaded parliament hill have to make do with a single shot repeating rifle? Cause he couldn't get an automatic. Why did the guys who stabbed people on London bridge not have hand guns and automatic weapons? Because they couldn't get them.

New Jersey and New York have among the most restrictive firearms laws in the US. Canada has strict firearms laws. The UK... we don't gotta even talk about those.

So the lesson is if you're a terrorist and want to build up a big kill ratio go to Nevada or some other states where you can buy any weapon you want and even carry them around openly.
