I wish Zippy hadn't been driven out of here because his opinion would be invaluable right now. That makes you the designated go-to guy for opinions based in reality and on fact.
Me three.
And that's pretty sad, if I'm considered the 'sane' one around here.

Any ideas on how the rest of the us should move on in a post-America world? Just move forward regardless of the what the Americans do to themselves? I'm not sure what else can be done because talking anymore to those who have abandoned all reason and decency, and who are now so proud of having done so, is a complete waste of all time and effort.
As the saying goes, Keep Calm and Chive on. Pretty much the rest of the world is doing just that. Even loads of Mayors of US cities, heads of state all over the world and business leaders (even Oil Company execs) have said that the Paris deal will move forward, even if the US has to be pulled kicking and screaming with it.
If they want to stand alone, they have that right. But they'll find the rest of the world has moved on and so has their chance to remain a world leader in many technologies. It's ironic too that Obama had to drag the worst polluter, China, into the agreement, and China was trying hard to convince Trump to stay.
It won't be wasted effort, because despite the White Houses' denial, the rest of the US will be trying their best to clean up their act. And business has seen that's what consumers want, so that's where they will go too.

It's a time for firsts I guess, but it's too bad that all of the new firsts are completely negative. I have to add another one to my list. This is the first time in my life that I've wished Canada didn't share a border with the United States. I hate to think what they're going to do to us, from more insanity at the crossings to possibly even tossing toxic waste directly into the shared rivers and lakes, as their descent into madness hits terminal velocity.

Just remember what I always say. Most people are decent and good. They aren't going to start floating toxic waste in the great lakes anytime soon, because they don't want that shit any more than we do. Some industry might try, now that Trump relaxed the rules, but they also know that Trump won't be in office indefinitely. At some point, the cheque comes due.
And Canada doesn't have the best track record with toxic waste in rivers either. We shouldn't be pointing fingers till we fix our own problems.
