They are speculating on the CHEK 6 coverage that because two other RCMP cruisers were right there, that they were in fact pursuing the truck, and she was trying to act as the cut off vehicle. We won't know for sure until the investigation is complete.

Stop that right now! andy has him already pegged as being a yahoo and a pickup driver so he's guilty of everything. He's probably a racist, sexist, homophobe as well!

I know this is all speculation but any indication that the other vehicles had lights and or sirens on?

More like a BC redneck problem because your rednecks are so goddamn wild they make the ones in the rest of the country look like the fucking Algonquin Round Table in comparison.

Ugh. I'd hate to think she committed suicide by deliberately getting perpendicular to two tons of speeding steel.

I've never heard of cops trying to get in front of a vehicle and cut it off. Certainly not unless the danger the vehicle represents is extreme or the driver is out of commission. Of course there's the possibility that she was turning left and he went left to get around her. I've had numbnuts pull that on me before, usually with Alberta plates.

I may have to eat my words on this, because speculation is that because the driver has not been charged, he may not have been doing anything wrong. Although with witnesses saying he was travelling at a high rate of speed, that seems wrong right there.

The guy has been released without charge.

Pickup truck yahoo.

okay guys, I have the inside scoop on this story. This accident happened about 1km from my house and it turns out my eldest son knows the driver. Turns out the driver of the truck was on his way home from a party at 330 am. He is known to police and is a crack head. He was most likely on crack when the incident happened. He was apparently doing 120km/h in a 50km zone when he T-boned the RCMP cruiser. He may have been in pursuit as it took 40 seconds for two other squad cars to show up at the accident. It is a very sad story. P.S Andy....I drive a Ford F150 because I own a 5th wheel....just sayin.....

Not all yahoos drive pickups, but many do. Such as what you said about the driver in question. Sounds like a yahoo to me.

Clearly the dealership's fault for selling a truck to a crackhead.

I have been informed by my son that the driver is known to drive without his headlights on and gets a kick out of toying with police in the early hours of the morning. He is notorious for starting chases with police. I cant believe they let this scum bag free today.

As is yahoos often drive pickups.

"Often", by itself, is a meaningless measurement.

In my experience, Yahoos most often drive Jap 4-bangers with coffee-can exhaust modifications.

Where I live, most everyone drives pickups, Yahoos and none-Yahoos alike.

We used to have those, but they've mostly disappeared. Maybe that's the difference between urban and rural. Here, if you see a vehicle roaring around, lighting up the tires, it's most often a pickup. Even the muscle car drivers seem to keep it under control. I would guess you have your share of yahoos, but if most everyone drives pickups, they don't stand out so much.

I drive a pickup and don't light up the tires roaring around but you are right there are Yahoos with pickups doing that which I happened to see yesterday afternoon in a Sobey's parking lot.

As for the driver of the truck he was released without being charged probably because it takes a while for a complete investigation to get it right.

Which was my only point - these days the pickup seems to be the vehicle of choice for that shit, likely in part because there are so few rear wheel drive cars anymore. Lot's of pickup drivers just calmly go about their business, but some don't. And by everything sookite says, this guy is one of them.
