Charges have been dropped. $1:
The gossip site TMZ is reporting that authorities in Florida decided not to prosecute Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski because of a video provided to them by the Republican presidential front-runner’s campaign.
The report cites anonymous sources who say the unreleased video shows then-Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields being told by a Secret Service agent she was standing in an off-limits area. The scene takes place before the alleged battery occurred.
TMZ also says that prosecutors were swayed by an affidavit from Secret Service agent Barton Brown, who headed up former Attorney General Eric Holder’s security detail. The affidavit reportedly says Lewandowski’s actions were appropriate for that situation.
Surveillance footage from the campaign event shows Lewandowski grabbing Fields by the arm and pulling her away from Trump. Fields later filed a criminal complaint against the campaign manager; on Wednesday, it was reported that prosecutors would not be pressing charges.
