The reason these companies have such a strong hold is because of exactly what is happening in this thread. So many are so afraid to even try competing that the existing group gets to do what they want, how they want.

No, it will not be easy...but, nothing worth doing ever is. And failure...that only matters if you quite. It is called an education when you continue.

Why should I have to invent a new phone, computer, car, game system, food processing method, encryption method, shoes, clothes, telecommunication service, pharmaceuticals, and plastic simply because I've noticed a problem with these products? What if I like to make computer games but have a big issue with how Nike shoes are made? Why is the answer "buy/invent something else and shut the fuck up"?

Because you don't have a right to what someone else produces. You either pay for it, buy something else, or make your own.

what a load of bullhsit in this thread about people making their own tractors and such. The problem is the government here that is under sway from the large producers.
