Thanos Thanos: It's not as cool or esthetically pleasing when it happens done from drinking too much beer as opposed to a skilled surgeon using saline and silicon. I think he's talking about penile tumesence. That is when blood flow to your penis moves it from a flaccid state to a turgid one. It normally doesn't work with beer drinking.

Oh, let him have his fun. He's got nothing else to offer, and I dissed the man he loooooves.
What economists are saying is that oil and manufacturing are in recession, but the service industry isn't - so it's a contained recession. We lost jobs in June, but less than expected - I guess these days that counts for good news.
Still, many people saying this would be a good time to invest in infrastructure, with low interest rates and many trades looking for work. Not gazebos or what have you, but infrastructure that would be needed if the economy ever recovers.

In what ways do you think Harper has ass raped you? For someone who doesn't believe in social spending, you should be happy with Harper - taxes are low, budget balanced (sort of) cuts various social programs, what's not to like for you?
For someone who believes in low tax/low spending government, I don't see how they could hope for somebody better than Harper. Unless you believe after the 2008 crash, he should have stuck to his no deficit budget promise and slashed and burned taxes and spending to the bone. Of course we'd be totally fucked now, but it would certainly be ideologically pure.

Yes, there have been cuts but lots have changed or improved as well. Social programs and funding to special interest groups aren't permanent such as the 5 billion dollar Liberal child care program that was updated with a 17 billion dollar program. No government, left or right, would have kept funding the same during the last 10 years considering the economic climate. Your second link isn't about cuts at all....as Heath care spending and increases are mandated by law.

The conservatives expanded the liberals incime-tested child care benefit into a universal benefit making it a defacto tax rebate for anyone who had children (regardless of whether they want or need child care). When the Liberals objeted to it the Cons played "gotcha" with JT's sound bite out of context and then ran a bunch of misleading ads claiming the liberals want to take away child care benefits.

So someone else noticed all those attack ads are lies, distortions, out of context, assumed implications and cliches? Anyone else wonder what the others paid for by your dollars and running a hundred times a day on every station are costing? The Government of Canada ones touting a Tory program in the run up to an election? I tell you, I almost bought their promises of reform, open gov't, etc. but I knew deep inside they'd become absolute slime once elected.......

I think you're mixing up various programs. The one mentioned in the article is the $100 per month isn't a tax cut but a "childcare" program. There still are programs for those with low incomes on top of the new $100 program so those people actually receive more.

Ads promoting government programs have been around forever. It's not just a Harper thing.
