People have been displacing each other forever. The Jews brag about it in the Torah - proud of the genocide they inflicted on the Canaanites so they could establish their God given realm. Doesn't seem to make them any more c'est la vie when genocide was perpetrated on them.
None of that is to the point. We as in Europeans, pushed the FN's off the land they were occupying, and we, as in you and me, are now enjoying the life that comes from that. Unfortunately we are hoist on our own petard, since we claim to be a people governed by the law, and the law is turning against us. We could claim that this his how it goes, the strong take from the weak, but then we'd have to deny our own laws. And of course couldn't squawk much about Ukraine for instance. I mean is there a time limit for using force to take territory, say after 1945 it's not on anymore, but before that it was all good? On the other hand, making the FN's first citizens with more rights and privileges and less responsibilities than other Canadians doesn't sit well with me either.
