BRAH BRAH:
You can have all the technology to disable cell phones while the vehicle is driving and someone will find a way around it. Perhaps the best solution rests in the hands of the insurance companies where if it's proven your accident was caused because you were on your cellphone texting etc your policy is cancelled and you're personally responsible for damages to the other vehicle etc. Threaten people's wallets and their attitude of using cell phones while driving could change over night.


In theory, that might work - if the offender survives the collision. If not, their estate may not have the financial ability to pay those damages.

Still, I'd be willing to listen to almost any proposal on this issue - it's on the verge of becoming an epidemic. What's worse is that it is entirely preventable.

It could work because when you threaten the public's wallet they seem to pay attention. Of course an action like this is easier said than done because there would be endless debates, bleeding hearts saying rights are being infringed upon on etc.
