You didn't dare use hyperbole in your arguments, did you? That's only allowed for a select few here.

Irony can get tricky. Did you mean irony or sarcasm? Either way, it seems it's best to use [/irony] or [/sarcasm] after your statement. Actually you'll have to explain to me how your statement was ironic as well, please.

I've spent a lot of my life interacting with and around Brits. They don't need cue cards. It is often mentioned, indeed, that "we" Americans tend to be irony-illiterate.

I'm illiterate. What was the irony?
Also note what I implied. People use the term ironic when they mean sarcasm, often.

They call it taking the piss or taking the mickey. I would know majority western expats here are brits can be hilarious at times Also one of the reason I enjoy British comedy

It's their language, they are the most adroit at using it. I loved the character of John Cleese's wife in A Fish Called Wanda and how she dealt with Kevin Kline.

Yogi Yogi: Such a needless tradgedy. For some reason this one bothered me unlike any of the others of late. With those past needles horrors, I immediately felt, and expressed a 'hang 'em high' type of anger which is typical for my temperment. Not so this time. Just an unexplained deep sadness. Today, whiling away my boredom, I looked in on her FB page. I don't do this often. I saw her post of condolences to her former co-workers as well as to all the families involved. This evening she phoned me. As soon as she heard my voice she went completely to pieces. I have never known my daughter to do this. Sure, she has been plenty upset a time or two. This time was different. Young Jordan Segura had been one of her Attendant Trainees. By all accounts, just a wonderful young man. I always feel really uncomfortable at funerals. Never been my thing. My daughter wants me to be there with her at 10:30 Monday morning. I'll be by her side. When I heard one of the victims was being viewed at the mortuary where he worked, I thought of your daughter. Such tragic irony. I hope she feels better soon.

I will pass on your good wishes to her. ![Drink up [B-o]](./images/smilies/drinkup.gif)

So, y'all feel for this suspect, but Vince Li is scum and deserves to be executed? Can't think about how often the term "good kids" was applied to both victims and attacker. As if they somehow deserved it less than bad kids.

He had a psychotic break. He deserves sympathy as well. And to be locked up for a long time.
