The guy was depressed and suicidal. His hatred of govt and the TSA was just the story that went along with those feelings. He's externalizing the reason he feels the way he does. But, many on the extreme left or right do the same thing. They may not all be depressed, but mentally ill in some other way, and they externalize that it's the "progs" or the "fascists" that are the cause of their problems.

Unsound Unsound:
andyt andyt:
I guess it's another one of them anti-govt lieberals:

NBC News reporter Pete Williams identified the suspect in Friday’s LAX shooting as 23-year-old Paul Anthony Ciancia who, according to authorities, had literature on him that suggests “strong anti-government views.”

While I'm sure it'll be interesting to sort out what his particular derangement was, it doesn't mean much in the long run. there are psychos on every part of the political spectrum and when and how the eventually snap says more about them than it does about any other sane people who's beliefs bear a superficial resemblance.

When I hear about another shooting, I don't think about their political leanings first. Most of shooters are just deranged people and any ideology they may hold just comes from that derangement. In when was the last purely political motivated shooting in the US? Mostly they just seem to be people driven over the edge.

But, I felt that the first response on this topic:
BRAH BRAH:
The Left and lame stream media are already blaming the evil right & tea party before all facts are in. Never let an opportunity go by.
deserved a response.

That's what I was trying to get at. It's really kind of sad that we've reached a point where our first response to tragedy is to try to figure out a way to blame it on the other (political) side.

Crazy people do crazy things and it should be seen as a public health issue, not a political one.

Apparently not that suicidal, he's still alive isn't he?
