Good now there's something to watch Saturday nights. I can boycott HIST, DISC, MILT, NATG and they're endless repeated crap every 3 hours. Maybe I'll get to flick to one of those sports channels I haven't looked at since June and discover Shaw's deleted them from my mere $110 mo pkg... who knows. Go ahead and boycott a game or two, the closest team's 1000 kms from me. I can't see any reason for it other than what Granny used to call "cutting off your nose to spite your face".

Yes, I'll boycott the NHL and watch an Ancient Aliens or Swamp People marathon on History (LOL) Channel instead. Or the Stonehenge Apocalypse, Twister In New York, Solar Crisis, or SuperOctopus vs MegaShark movie ass-blast on Space. Or all 12 straight hours of Girls on HBO (the overwhelming twee-ness of it all! it's burning my eyes out!). Or all thousand episodes of Crisis 2012 (even though it's now 2013 and we kind of survived) of NatGeo.
People who hold grudges like this are idiots.

Gonna buy some green spotlights, mount them on my fence and bring the camera into the ravine. Sell them a "Search for Lost Pomeranian" they can run every three hours for six years and then retire. Maybe earn enough to actually attend a Canucks game, last one I did go to was in the Bumblebee suit era...

Caelon Caelon: So now with the Memorandum of Understanding signed the lockout is officially over.
The real question is how many of the fans that said they would not support the NHL in retaliation for the money grabbing at the expense of others, will follow through with their stated intent? Was it real or was it just venting frustration?
The ones who were serious will do all of the following and those that only do some partial amount are in favour of the status quo.
1. Will not buy a ticket to any game this season. 2. Will not accept a free ticket to any NHL game 3. Will not buy any NHL merchandise 4. Will not watch any games on TV.
As most of the 'good' tickets are held by corporations, the NHL will not see a major loss of revenue from ticket sales. The average fan does not have access to the free corporate tickets. So I would say committing to the first three is just lip service. For the average fan to make a difference they should not turn on the game. Nor will they patronize sport bars that insist on showing an NHL game. That will have a dramatic effect on viewer stats and guess what drives advertising dollars. You want to make the NHL pay attention to the fan then you must hit them in the pocket book. If the advertisers cannot be guaranteed high levels of viewers then the amount they will pay for a minute of time will drop dramatically. That will hit the owners where it hurts and with the reduced revenues the players will also be affected.
So were YOU serious? The only thing I'm doing NHL related this year is holding my usual fnatasy hockey league, but in fairness, that's about all I ever do. I don't have time to watch games (on TV) and I stopped going to Rexall years ago when they jacked the prices way up. Regarding your checklist, I never do any of those anyways! As for fans around the country, the answer is apparently no; http://www.ottawasun.com/videos/feature ... 1970532001http://winnipeg.ctvnews.ca/jets-fans-pa ... -1.1112159http://www.edmontonjournal.com/sports/S ... story.htmlhttp://oilers.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=649922

So were YOU serious? The first 2 never apply to me anyway. I bought a jersey a couple of seasons ago so no need for any of that crap. As for #4 I doubt I'll bother even paying attention at all until the playoffs, and even then I'm unsure I'll have any interest as to me this season won't really count. Too busy these days with other things anyway.

Great, training camp starts on the 20th and then they're going to cram 50 games into the season. Oh yeah, this season is going to be a real winner.
I'll just stick with the Oshawa Generals and AHL games. The puckheads in the NHL can just puck off.

If it's on ABC or picked up by TSN, I'll be watching. It's just Nascar pisses me off. I get to watch half the season and then maybe 4-5 races in the chase. As soon as TNT picks up the broadcasting, I get screwed.
