Jabberwalker Jabberwalker:
Tricks Tricks:
Don't we supply a bunch of power to the north eastern U.S.?

Most of Hydro Quebec's output goes to the Eastern Seaboard of the United States. It's probably Quebec's biggest export.

Try cutting off an essential resource to the US and we'll find out who the REAL boss is (as the Marines steam up the St. Lawrence).

I don't see the US invading over that kind of thing but the ramifications of doing this is the liberal New Yorkers would be pushed into the pro-Trump column in response. And then when you've managed to get liberal Manhattanites on the side of Trump that's when things will get very difficult for Canada.

In the long term the impact would be the American public's insistence on energy independence and that means your entire energy market in the US would disappear.

In any case, do this and Trump might even carry New York in 2020.

As a national security issue of course.

I'd rather sue for a amicable resolution over a scorched earth trade war.

Yea, exactly. Try not to make eye contact.

If they can't see that it's the President's order to prosecute every border crosser, even those seeking asylum, that is causing havoc with children's lives, then there is nothing we can do for them.

Lots of the parents make asylum claims.
They are detained while the claim gets sorted out.

So, you are saying we should lock up the kids with their parents then ?

I'm with the rest of the world in thinking that claiming asylum is not a crime, and therefore no one needs to be locked up.

As terrible as it sounds, maybe yes. Perception is a powerful thing. Especially when it looks like the kids are kept in cages like animals at the zoo.

"Looks like" being the operative phrase here.

Are you aware there is probably some kind of international law that
prevents that. One reason why the kids get separated. They get sent
quick enough to some style of foster care.
The other is to stop child trafficking.

Oh by the way... I was wrong.

The laws that are being enforced, weren't written by Obama, although he did use them.

They were created by the Clintons..

Hence why I said "perception". What people perceive is not always correct, hell, its wrong 80% of the time. But perception is reality for many.

But the decision to charge them criminally, and therefore break up the families, is 100% Trump.

They're CRIMINALS. That's why they're being charged as criminals.

And, like I've said, Canada is welcome to do all the virtue signalling you want...right after YOU take in 20 million of these people.

Some, yes...all, no?

Specifically since it is illegal to charge a person under the age of 11 with a federal offense, in the US.

Until immigration becomes a state only issue, or that law is changed, the US is currently breaching their own laws right now.
