The New York Times is caught scrubbing details from stories again. $1: A jihadi was widely reported — not just in the New York Times — as telling a woman in the Charlie Hebdo offices that she should convert to Islam, read the Qur’an, and wear a veil. The New York Times reported that as well. But now those references are gone from the Times. Apparently the Times editors are desperately concerned that Americans might get a negative view of Islam, and are doing all they can to prevent that. http://www.jihadwatch.org/2015/01/new-y ... -and-islam

andyt andyt: Oh, well, that will fix it. It actually could because Al Qaeda and ISIS rely on the internet for propaganda.

BRAH BRAH: Good for a laugh anyway, like when Anonymous declared war on the Mexican drug cartels then rapidly backed off when they realized that hackers vs. a heavily armed mafia wouldn't end too well for the basement-dwellers with their Guy Fawkes' masks. I highly doubt that this, as rotten and cowardly as they are, would be too intimidated by this, in the slightest. It's all about ethics in jihadist journalism.....

It might help a bit. Doubt it will really shut them down. Al Qaeda did it's worst work without using social media at all.
For homegrown terrorism, best way is to ally with homegrown Muslims who are not radicalized. Get them to see that it's in their own interest to root these guys out. These brothers apparently had an arsenal in their apartment, which the neighbors knew about but didn't report until after the massacre. Need to put way more pressure on peaceful Muslims to report the nutbars, but also make the peaceful Muslims feel they will be welcomed and accepted by the larger society. Ie carrot and stick.
Also, why did it take this incidence for Anonymous to step up? The previous depredations of ISIS weren't enough to motivate them.
Just read Thanos' post. Good point.

18.40 Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has told French Jews that Israel 'is their home' after 17 people were killed there during three days of Islamist attacks. "To all the Jews of France, all the Jews of Europe, I would like to say that Israel is not just the place in whose direction you pray, the state of Israel is your home," he said in a televised statement, referring to the Jewish practice of facing Jerusalem during prayer. Wow. At least they have a place to go this time.

And it matters cause... 'Every single French Jew I know has left Paris'$1: Jews are fleeing terror-hit Paris because of growing anti-Semitism in France, one of Britain's most influential Jewish journalists said today.
Stephen Pollard, editor of the Jewish Chronicle, spoke out after an Islamic terrorist took six people hostage and held them captive in a Kosher supermarket in the French capital.
This afternoon police ordered all shops in a famous Jewish neighborhood in central Paris to close.
The mayor's office in Paris announced the closure of shops along the Rosiers street in Paris' Marais neighborhood, in the heart of the tourist district and less than a mile away from the offices of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo where 12 people were killed on Wednesday.
Hours before the Jewish Sabbath, the street is usually crowded with French Jews and tourists alike.
Mr Pollard said today's terror attack in Paris, linked to the massacre at the office of Charlie Hebdo, will force more French Jews to flee the country.
Many are moving to Britain or to Israel, according to a report published in the newspaper last year.
He said the fact that a terrorist had chosen to target a Jewish store was no 'fluke'.
In a series of tweets he said: 'Every single French Jew I know has either left or is actively working out how to leave'.
'So, it's a fluke that the latest target is a kosher grocer, is it?
'What's going on in France - outrages that have been getting worse for years - put our antisemitism problems in perspective'.
The hostage situation in the Porte de Vincennes part of the city is ongoing today.
But amid fears the terror attack may be linked to anti-Semitism police have also demanded that shops on Rue des Rosiers, in the Jewish quarter of Paris, to close early 'as a precaution' in case of further violence.
18 months ago France had around 500,000 Jewish residents - the largest population in the EU - but this may now be below 400,000, Mr Pollard's newspaper said. It happened in Malmo Sweden too.
