Well, Big Brother is here. Only not in the way Orwell thought (maybe in the UK) but in a kind of collective and NGO invasion of our privacy with our consent. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc. People post information that would never be released or looked at by a government agency. By their own consent.

Maybe we should say 'little Brother is watching you.'

Your image is gathered hourly by business or numerous other people not linked to the police or the oppressive regimes of Harper et al.

There are very few actual CCTV cameras that are run by police agencies in Canada. I think Toronto have like 5 cameras. I'd take what you see on any of these 'investigative journalism' shows with a big fuck-off chunk of salt. The media isn't in the business of telling the truth.

I agree PD. But that Pandora's box was opened in the 1970's (CCTV). At least the cops have to tell you you are on video. I'd say the other 99% of video is recorded without your consent quite lawfully. Social media has made detection of crime much easier. People seem to enjoy recording themselves breaking the law then they post it on the internet.

I would think that these terrorists will be on camera prepping and undertaking their murder and maiming of innocents. I'm pretty confident the Yanks will get these guys. While society may have been lulled back into a bit of complacency in the 11 years since the 911 attacks, law enforcement/intelligence and counter-intelligence haven't.
