ShepherdsDog ShepherdsDog: 2Cdo 2Cdo: ShepherdsDog ShepherdsDog: He was referring to the 21st century. Give Islam a chance, it's still early in the 21st century! They'll eventually run up against the secular Chinese. Who have taken brutal crackdowns to heights we haven't imagined. The Chinese will not show the restraint that the West has. There'll be no discussion of brutality, killing of prisoners, dead civilians , ethnic cleansing or interference from the media. Oops, forgot about those heathen Chinese. But I still think radical Islam could give them a run for their money!

I dunno. The Chinese don't worry about world opinion, their sheer numbers and the proximity of China to the area doesn't work well. If militants attack the Chinese, the Chinese will pursue a policy of scorched earth on the entire region. They won't care if there is any collateral damage.

ShepherdsDog ShepherdsDog: Then we'll find some other reason to kill each other. We're extremely creative when it comes to finding reasons for killing each other. Clean drinking water and dwindling resources likely, and the Third Worlders will likely make it a 'kill whitey' fest. This will make our vigorous religious debates of the past look like heated highschool debating. Very possible. Or maybe it'll be Star Trek-world where we humans finally get along and we need to go to other star systems to pick a fight.

Naw...don't think so. I think there's a blockade on our system, which is why we never hear anything from the neighbours. If anything, we'll be the evil ravening alien hordes if we break out.....especially if any of the others taste like chicken or beef....Pray to whatever, that the Chinese aren't involved in first contact.

In western China in 2008 the Chinese put down a Muslim uprising when the Uighurs went on a pogrom against Han Chinese settlers. About 40,000 Muslims were reportedly slaughtered/killed by the regular Chinese troops who were sent in to restore order. Since it wasn't covered on TV no one in the West cared.

That sounds like a Chinese response. I think the Russians will behave the same way. I don't think that the Moslem groups that bombed their Metro system will fare too vell against the Spetznas.

It's refreshing to know that not everyone appeases Islam.

GreenTiger GreenTiger: Yes, the Russians and the Chinese aren't overly concerned about Political Correctness. I recall one of Newsweek's interviews with Putin after 9/11 when Putin was asked what Russia's response would have been had such an attack taken place on Russia and Putin said: "Three (Muslim/Arab) cities would have ceased to exist." The Newsweek response was, "Which cities?" To which Putin said, "Does it matter?"

To which Putin said, "Does it matter?" Awesome! You really want to live in a country that would do that? Bush got it right when he went into Astan. But instead of focusing on Al Qaeda and Bin Laden, having actual US troops go after him instead of paying Atan mercenaries, he took his eyes off the ball. Probably never wanted to find Bin Laden, who's much more useful as the bogeyman.
