Im annoyed with his excuse for cancelling the ritual, if he would have just come out and said "Its because I felt the anthem should be something special, not something that should be sung constantly," he might have done better. The whole making up several stories about his reasons made him look pretty bad.

The National Anthem should be played at every school in the country every morning. When I was at school and it was in Quebec.. it was played every day. If we allow the continued erosion of things Canadian, then we might as well throw in the towel.. too much immigration is fragmenting the country.. so lets not cry when there is nothing Canadian left.. we are giving it away.. wake up before its only a memory.

If you want to move to a new country you must obviously have something inside you that makes you want to live there (or it should). And if a country is nice enough to let you in and live there, the LEAST you could do is respect the country and the people who are natives.

Now I don't live there but I think it applies to every country. Yes if you move somewhere you have the right to keep your beliefs, but it doesn't mean you can disrespect those who are native.

I just want to renew my stay classy New Brunswick statement, Im starting to feel sorry for the guy. He screwed up granted, but he has been constantly harassed, threatened and demonized. You would think someone in the province would stand up for him.... Oh well in a month or two he will be forgotten, I just hope he plans running for the greens again .

After seeing his interview last night I gotta say that this was way overblown. That is if what he said was normal at other schools is correct. According to him this move was pretty much a move to the norm in other schools. I suspect Politics are involved considering his previous run as a Green candidate.

Everyone uttering Death Threats should be charged IMO. It's one thing to disagree with something, but threatening death is unacceptable.
