Forcing it like that makes it offensive. People choose to be patriotic. You can't force them to be patriotic, just act like it.

I once had a religious nut snap at me that even if you couldn't force people to believe you could force them to act it and it was just as good.

National anthem is a bit different than religion. I don't see any comparison to make there.

We used to hear the anthem every morning when I was in grade school, you didn't have to sing it, but you had to stand and listen to it.

I don't think something like that is forcing anything other than making people realize what it means to belong to a country perhaps. And hopefully, what it means in the grand scheme.

Why is this National news? This has been blows too far out of proportion. My school only ever played the anthem at assemblies. I'm still patriotic. It's not an unusual situation. I think singing it every morning is odd.

I can remember the national anthem every morning and the lord's prayer, I think the singing anthem should be played every morning, and this guy needs to be fired. I went to public school and high school in rural Ontario, there were bus delays sure but some how there was not the anarchy this guy claims there is.

Because we are just now hearing about it.
Personally I don't care who is protesting the playing of the anthem, I'm just wonderign why 2 complaints ruined it for those that want it, Went to JH with a bunch of Jo Hos and they listened to the anthem everyday and no complaints.
My money is on them being immigrants though.
As far as not knowing any well, wrong. 75 employees and more than 2/3 of them are from another country, my post wasn't specific to ALL IMMIGRANTS either
