Nice twist, Beaver. Is hysterical the same as aggressive? We've already seen that this guy is very large and a thug. (bitch about the theft video all you want, it certainly tells us a lot about who this guy is and how he's likely to behave.) He wasn't jay walking but walking down the middle of the road - again indicative of somebody who thinks he's all that. The cop, apparently, told him to get off the road, and he did not comply.

We don't know what happened. The overheard conversation seems to indicate he was charging the cop at the time. Witnesses say he was surrendering. Let's hope the investigation gets to the bottom of it.

CBC had interviews with middle class blacks living near the area who have absolutely no use for the rioters. They support the police. The trouble spot is a section 8 housing project. No doubt there is antagonism between police and the residents of this project. Don't think it's all the police's fault either. Just as Jane and Finch, the residents aren't all angles oppressed by the popo.

And while we're on the topic, who gets stopped for jaywalking anyways, let alone has such a minor infraction escalate to a physical altercation? These things seem to only happen to people of a certain ....*ahem* ....characteristic

Buddy of mine did, and this is in Canada and he's a white boy. He'd gotten off the bus and was crossing the street when some Mountie with too much time on his hands gives him grief for jaywalking.

Must be weird where you live - in Vancouver they give out lots of jaywalking tickets. And the poverty industry is up in arms because they are disproportionately given out in the DTES. Of course that is also the only area where the jaywalkers just stumble out into traffic no matter what. Guess when you're that fucked up, getting slammed by a bus means a free trip to he hospital. Free food, clean sheets and all the drugs you can IV. Oh, let's not forget the Drive, where jay walking in front of cars is a political statement. I don't dare to get aggressive when I'm in my car, but on my bike I'll ride right at the fuckers - fun to watch them scatter at the last moment when they realize I'm making a statement of my own.

These two stories come from blogs so like the second guy says proceed with caution, but...

The Gateway Pundit can now confirm from two local St. Louis sources that police Officer Darren Wilson suffered facial fractures during his confrontation with deceased 18 year-old Michael Brown. Officer Wilson clearly feared for his life during the incident that led to the shooting death of Brown. This was after Michael Brown and his accomplice Dorian Johnson robbed a local Ferguson convenience store.

Bear with us – and proceed with caution – as we deliver some breaking news and source out the information:

update-1A local Saint Louis radio station is reporting that Dorian Johnson has recanted his prior media espousals and now asserts that he and Mike Brown did indeed engage in a physical confrontation with Officer Darren Wilson. As a consequence the same Radio Station is asserting the local prosecutor essentially advises it’s doubtful charges would be filed.

BeaverFever BeaverFever:
getting hysterical and acting ignorant is not going to help you and can only make things worse.

St. Louis police release video of the second guy....

safe to say it's NSFW...

So let's have all the 'taser', 'shoot him in the leg', 'talk him down', and whatever else
the SJWs can come up with.

8O

That was an execution. Nothing that person did warranted his immediate death. Nothing.

He had a knife in his hand.

He refused police instructions.

He was behaving very erratically.. "shoot me, shoot me now"

He was approaching the police, got within 10 feet.

The whole city is on edge, people have been shooting at police officers.

At some point, when the guns come out, you stop behaving like a damn monkey
and comply with the officers. If not, you deserve everything you got coming.

The cop who shot the arab kid in TO was much further away.

I didn't see a knife, but in that case, yes. Drop the knife, or get shot.

But the begging for it, somehow reeks of mental illness to me. Normal people don't go for suicide by cop.

Suicide by cop also hurts the police officer who fired the fatal shot, no winners here.

Thanos Thanos:
In austerity-land police departments have had their budgets cut and told to find funding elsewhere.

If revenues drop then services also have to correspondingly adjust. If they don't then you get Detroit, Stockton, and more cities that have had to declare bankruptcy.

The answer, as we're seeing from the new Chief of Police in Detroit is for law abiding citizens to arm themselves as the Constitution provides with that comment about the 'militia'. The other choice is anarchy.

In a related shooting in St. Louis the cops shot and killed a man and then made up a steaming pile of BS to justify the shooting. That steaming pile of BS has now been definitively contradicted by a cell phone video:
