I admit to this confusion too. Semites are a race. Apparently Arabs are Semites, but anti-Semites are those who are bigoted against Jews, who, I've been told are both a race and a religion.

I suppose skin colour used to make a convenient demarcation between cultures, and in some cases they still do, though not as clear as they used to be. In Canada, First Nations claim they want to protect their culture and yet the Indian Act is concerned with preservation of the race (genetic qualities).

To my mind it's culture that most folks want to protect--not their skin colour or even their religion necessarily, but their culture. I suppose it's because they want to see their contribution to the culture of the world live in the same way they want to see their progeny go forth and multiply.

But the word "race" is still so loaded, at least in the US, that it stops many discussions in their tracks.

These communities are radicalised and a bhurka/niqab is the dress of the day for the ladies.

These are parts of town that a white English person is a target of open suspicion at the very least.

It's not good and the demo against the Army is another example of the open disdain the Pakistani community routinely shows towards the native white English. It was designed to stir the shit.

These towns were the breeding grounds of the 711 bombers that killed 50+ innocents in London.

You should visit and open your eyes to what is really going on in the UK.

Compared to what? You are well aware of the violence and hate the surrounded the various ethnic groups (all Christian of course) of Europeans migrating to Canada, USA, Australia.

Racial strive has long been apart of our culture. Look at the whole Mexico-USA stuff. Who in the world are more pious Christians then Latin Americans? Doesn't stop the violence though does it.
