Belinda couldn't be bribed with money so she was bribed with a promise of a cabinet position with all the perks and a chance of a run for the Liberal leadership.

That is as sleazy as it can get, but for some reason it draws no comments from DerbyX, probably because it wasn't the CPC doing it.

DerbyX
$1:
You don't get it do you?

1) Just the fact Harper was offering "financial consideration" alone is the crime, not the insurance policy.

Sorry DerbyX but you are the one not getting it. The life insurance policy for $1 million was the financial consideration. This would be akin to being offered the deed to the Brooklyn bridge or ownership of the Brooklyn Dodgers. It would be impossible to get a life insurance policy for a man dying from cancer...

thats a good point. When you offer a million dollar insurance policy to dying man, do you:

A) consider it a bribe ( by ignoring the fact that the policy is worthless)

0r

B) consider it a colorful way of explaining to Cadman that the only financial consideration that the CPC is willing to pay you is a worthless policy.

It seems to me that we should be questioning Cadman's interpretation of the offer. It may not have been a bribe, rather it may have been a comment that there will be no bribe.

but some people especially liberals , just want to believe that these bizare allegations ae true . it does not matter if they make no sense and experts say they could not get such a policy anyways .

as for the polls mentioned , liberals are not likely to gain from this there seen as just as bad . its too bad this came out rate after budget cause otherwise i bet cpc would of been doing alot better in the polls than that .

What insurance company in the world would underwrite a million dollar insurance policy to a man dying from cancer?

none , industry experts have allready said this policy would be impossible to get .
and there is no proof that one even existed or was offered to him.
other that second hand claims from donna cadman who has no way to prove it did in fact happen. no hard evidence like copy of policy or insurance company saying they were approached by these 2 men looking for one .
this claim should be considered bogus until someone provides serious evidence that it is true .

You don't get it do you?

1) Just the fact Harper was offering "financial consideration" alone is the crime, not the insurance policy.

2) They don't need to actually have it go through, just get him to vote as they want. I doubt they had any intention of following through with their bribe after the vote. Its not as if Chuck could turn around and sue them for non-payment of bribe.

3) There is plenty of hard evidence. Its just that you are too stupid to see it.

plenty of hard evidence ? what evidence have they shown ? second hand claims are not considered hard evidence

and no one has found anything that says or shows chuck cadman saying he was offered this insurance policy . which they claim he was offered .
without out him saying this happened how can they ever prove such an event ever happened ?

Those prisoners of a rivalry between two political parties have a problem understanding that if there are two crimes, there should be two trials.

What goes around comes around. Get it?

You people were the ones convicting the Liberals over every false rumour and know that we have hard evidence of con malfeasance suddenly you all do a 180.

Off you go now. On yer Tricycle.
