BRAH BRAH:
Something I forgot to add: " The wife pledged allegiance on Facebook to ISIS leader minutes after the attack." what does this tell you? These were Terrorist just like the Tsarnaev brothers who were responsible for the Boston bombing.

That says they could be terrorists in the making. But was this shooting a terrorist act, or was it just a workplace shooting? Anyone can (and usually do) say all sorts of shit on Facebook. Did they actually believe it, and was this part of their beliefs?

Those things we need to know before they get labelled 'terrorism'.

Even CNN can't hide it anymore.

Doc, stop, you're going to look really stupid soon if you keep this up.

Why, because I demand evidence before convicting people? I guess I should just join the 'torch and pitchfork' crowd, because they seem to be such a progressive force in society.

"It would be irresponsible and premature for me to call this terrorism," FBI official David Bowdich said Thursday. "The FBI defines terrorism very specifically, and that is the big question for us: What is the motivation for this?"

He better stop that, or he's going to look really stupid.

Well, we can get the torch and pitchforks out either way. What they did was heinous. Who cares if the motivation was kill the infidels or kill those bastards two cubicles over who are always stealing my lunch. These two people were scum either way.

I'm sure they were terrorists. You don't amass that sort of arsenal unless you plan to inflict terror on people - no indication the were planning some bank assault or what have you.

But, for officials of course it's different. They need to be sure before they label something terrorism. No condemnation from me (vs the foamers) for Obama etc to be cautious about what to call this. I don't face such restrictions, so I call them terrorists. I just don't see what evidence could come forward that would show otherwise.

But when we didn't know fuck all, like at the start of this topic, it was okay to blame white guys, NRA members, and gun rights.

Sorry, Dr. C, you lost this argument. Cut your losses and stop before you look as stupid as the fucking Democrats do.

No one is going to be convicted because, if you overlooked this detail, the terrorists are dead as a result of a shootout with the police where they were tossing pipe bombs at the police.

Oh, by the way, pipe bombs are illegal in the USA. Do we need to implement background checks and pipe control?

I also suspect the conference center was a pipe bomb free zone.

Did he blame white guys etc?

I very much doubt he blamed gun rights, since he's pretty hard on the pro gun side. And I don't see how the motive here says anything about not bringing up gun control. What, if it's rightwingnuts, we should tighten up on the guns, but if they're jihadi nuts, why bother?

“Investigators think that AS the San Bernardino, California, attack was happening, female shooter Tashfeen Malik posted a pledge of allegiance to ISIS leader”

“-- may have been inspired by ISIS.”

They believe that it may have been terrorism, Pretty safe to say.

Terrorist inspired attacks are and have been accepted as terrorism since at least 9/11 by pretty much every security service I worked around. The FBI is likely trying to limit backlash and fear within its boarders by not admitting what I can pretty much guarantee they are saying off camera. If a terror group inspires someone to act in their name they consider it a victory just as if they had done it themselves, unless somehow it is embarrassing to them. I'm sure ISIS would be proud of these guys if they claimed it in their name.

Investigators edged closer Thursday to the conclusion that Syed Rizwan Farook and his wife, Tashfeen Malik, were radicalized by Islamist extremists either in the U.S. or during trips to the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia.

The FBI takes in boarders? Budget cuts?

Of course they're all saying it's terrorism privately. But officially they have to gather the evidence to prove it.

No, what they're having to do is to reconcile the evidence of terrorism with the instructions from the White House that tell them to prove it's anything else.
