As I've mentioned before Curt, a lot of this stuff is either cultural or just a load of old bollocks. The Koran doesn't mention half the stuff that these stone age types are trying to ram down our willing western wimpy throats.

People use our lack of knowledge of their religion as a way of promoting their own agenda and some of us help them out. Not me though.

Well I still don't know which side to take on this one.. On the one hand, I say tell the families to piss off, your kids are in public school and that's what goes on in public school.. On the other hand, I went to school with several Jehovah's Witness kids and they were excused from phys-ed when the activity involved competition, and also from singing God Save The Queen. I wonder on what basis they would deny these families a similar request.

The Bhurka is cultural. Honour killings are very cultural. The Niqab is cultural. Female circumcision is cultural but they are all hijacked and promoted as 'Islamic' when they are not.

The leeway that the SCC and other courts have given Sikhs isn't playing to well either these days. When people are having to ditch nail-clippers at airport security check-ins, it's tough to see the rationale of allowing kirpans into schools and legislatures, never mind the whole motorbike helmet thing.

Silliness has been masquerading as diversity for some time now. It's time the silliness stopped.

The JW's should not be exempt from physed if it's a compulsory class, I suppose GSTQ could be a choice, not sure, but not O Canada.

It's time to take a stand, no excuse for classes, no kirpans etc. etc.

Maybe, but in Canada at least, there hasn't been the same growth of a racist right-wing movement in response to the cult of multicult and the like as there is in the UK.
