ShepherdsDog ShepherdsDog:
fifeboy fifeboy:

So, you are saying Steve has no plans to build more prisons. OK, my mistake.
They planned on building huge ice breakers and a deep water port in Iqaluit too.... hasn't happened. The Liberals promised(for decades) to bring in a national day care program...never happened. They also promised to scrap the GST...never happened. Politicians promise lots of shit that they never follow through on. Until, they've been built, I'll just continue to believe it's talk, and let the Retards Against Steve's Secret Agenda blather on.

Actually they had one with provincial buy in all ready to go but it died on the parliament floor when the election was called, one of a few bills at the time if I recall correctly.

Of all the parts of Stevo's hidden agenda I thought this was the least cryptic.

FFS you bloody Quislings, we don't "claim" the Canadian Arctic it IS ours and has been since it was turned over by Britain.
We aren't trying to claim Novya Zemlya and the Russians aren't trying to claim Ellesmere Island. The Chinese aren't claiming fuck all.
It's all political bullshit over where the water boundaries will be drawn in case there's oil under the ice.

RUEZ RUEZ:
Where are all these prisons you people keep talking about? The only prison I know that's currently planned is being built by the BC government.

So far they're just EXPANDING existing prisons;

$1:
National Post, Sept 24, 2011

From Prince Edward Island to British Columbia to Nunavut, Canada is undergoing a massive prison expansion. The federal government is adding 2,700 beds, and the provinces and territories have added or are adding a further 7,000, at an estimated cost of $4-billion. British Columbia has embarked on the most expensive building plan in its history.

http://news.nationalpost.com/2011/09/24 ... the-1930s/

Basic math suggests if it costs $4 billion to create roughly 9700 new cells, the 2700 being built by the feds will cost close around $1.1 billion.

And from the same article;

$1:
This year alone, the federal government has awarded contracts or advance award notices for at least a dozen such facilities, at a cost of at least $9,585,000 and as much as $18,310,000. This month alone, it posted at minimum a dozen requests for services such as physiotherapy, psychiatry, pharmacy, optometry, and chaplaincy.

Thank you. I am just to tired to argue.
