Bren, you do know that is a bunch of horse shit right.

No, it's not. There are over a million Muslims in The Netherlands. Only 300 or so wear a burqa. Most of them wear a headscarf, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Do you know how scary it is to work at a gas station, and someone with a burqa walks in at 3 am? VERY scary. Just as scary as if it would be someone with a ski mask or a full face helmet on (not riding a motor bike).
You don't want people working at your store wearing a burqa. You don't want people working at your bank wearing a burqa. Or a ski mask. Or a full face helmet.

You could have a law that bans them in specific locations. Or just allow the owner to ban them - ie "no face coverings allowed on premises. Police will be called" Why ban them totally? And especially why ban that long gown they wear - as I said, are they going to ban long coats and evening gowns too?

"Head to toe" is not the same as "shoulder to toe" in my book.

I would love to some stats on gas station robberies, liqour store hold ups or similar violent crime by burqa clad women or men in Netherlands, France and Belguim. Must be a whole lot to bring in such drastic laws.

Creeping up on someone behind can also be quite scary, maybe a law banning that should also be drafted ! Specially at gas stations at 3.00 AM !

So no long coats with hoods? Are the police going to measure how close to the toe the hem of the coat/gown is to determine infraction? It seems like an over reaction, tho I can't blame the Dutch for it. Same with the no minarets in Switzerland. A country goes too far to accommodate and then there's the re-action that's just as extreme.

Did you miss the fact it is ALL face coverings? Including ski masks?

But you gotta ask yourself, why are these women so eager to move to Holldand, the West, civilization in the first place if they want to dress like that? And why are those countries so eager to allow them in?

Ever been to where they come from ?

And 'those countries' have been run by white guilt PC politicians for decades too
long.. and supported by people who were usually too afraid to say anything
for fear of being branded racist or other names...now they reap what they sow.

Finally, they are starting to realize the mistakes they have made.

Well, take a look at Gunnair's post right after mine - flinging the racist card is alive and well here too. (Tho I'm not actually sure what the burka has to do with skin color).

And yes, they're realizing the mistakes, and unfortunately going to the other extreme. Hope we can avoid that here.

I'll take it the answer to my first question is no.

There are big reasons people move away from those places.

As far as avoiding it, that is only a question of numbers.

No, I understand why they want to live in the west. What they don't understand is the West is what it is in good part because of our culture. It's the same with Indians and Chinese who move here because there's less corruption, then bring their little practices with them.

Maybe. But I don't care. That's with every law. If you think it is a religious thing, you're wrong.
The Catholic nuns can wear their religious "uniform", the muslims can wear something similar. But not full face coverings. See, people usually don't walk with full face covering on a public street, unless they have criminal intent.
You are now saying that just because "it" (since it could be male or female wearing a burqa, no one knows, right?) wears it for religious reasons, so it should be accepted as "freedom of religion", you're lying. The Prophet Mohammed does not say anywhere that you are supposed to be covered from head to toe in modern society or you will be kicked out of Islam. If it were so, EVERY muslim woman would wear it. But, since that is the biggest bullshit ever, it ain't happening.

The burqa has nothing to do with religion.

Nothing. I don't get head to toe gowns. How are those a problem and how will you determine what's legal and what's not? Two inches above the feet? 4?

Wait, wait, just read your last post. Don't nuns have head to toe gowns still, some of them? Are those banned as well?
