I'm curious, but when the Liberals formed the government did they ever bring members of the opposition with them when they attended these types of meetings?

Guy_Fawkes Guy_Fawkes: When I first read the headline I have hoped she was leaving Canada to take up a career as a prostitute, sadly thats not the case. Be careful, she may end up becoming PM and or GG. She may even become President of the Canadian Republic with her portrait hanging in every Canadian Embassy and government building. That would make a good Friday the 13th movie episode, it would scare the hell of a lot of folks.

I know when the Canadian delegation went to Kyoto there were members of the Federal and various Provincial governments. Opposition MP's? Nothing I've read indicates they were brought along.

I say good for her, I think it's a great idea she represents Tuvalu. Now she should move there and join their government fulltime. Don't let the door hit ya on the way out.

Not sure why she's being criticized for this. At least she's putting an effort into an issue that is the core of her Party's platform.

Your right that is the the Core of her Party Platforms (even though it is a party of one). She is being criticized because Elizabeth May bashing is quite fun. Hela Gurglis is gone so somebody needs to fill the void. I'm sure there are a number of lady politicians who are "off limits" to this kind of thing. Miss May is not one of them, is doesn't help that she is a bit of a kook herself and rarely misses an opportunity to display it. In The States we have Michelle Bachmann and Sara Palin, both are quite worthy of Ridicule as they are both on the lunatic fringe.

She is an articulate, intelligent, and extremely well informed person (woman is incidental to this). She knows far more about the various environmental questions than the rest of this dinosaur government put together and the US Congress with it. The silliness you are reading in this thread is the typical Right Wing approach to serious issues. Ridicule the opposition, demonise its policies. The pub;lic is stupid and ignorant enough to buy your propaganda since it is much easier than thinking about the problems. And I do not support the Greens.

Funny, that's EXACTLY what you've been doing to the right since the first word you posted in this forum. Funny how you do your little partisan moron dance. Harper is a psychopath, Harper is the next Kim Jong-il but holy shit, let someone say something about the left and you get all uppity-fucked over it. Yer nothing but a partisan, left-wing stooge.

Like Hell I have been doing that to the Right - and I don't call Harper the Right except to make it easy for you. I post about what he does and says. I do not discuss his features or his sexual proclivities. Even though those cold eyes and that tight mouth repel me.

eureka eureka: Like Hell I have been doing that to the Right - and I don't call Harper the Right except to make it easy for you. I think you do it to make it easy for you. Quite frankly, I get the distinct impression from you that anyone that doesn't think the same as you on a given topic is automatically a conservative or been brainwashed by them somehow, via propaganda or whatever. The only one that's been brainwashed is you(well maybe others in here but I'm not gonna speculate). Yer so damn convinced that conservatism is a cancer on society you can't see and refuse to acknowledge the failings of the left. You've been yapping like a rabid toy poodle about the Canadian government's "dismal" environemntal record. Is that just the Harper government or previous governments as well? Cuz from where I'm sitting, based on your standards the federal Liberals have nothing to brag about either. But of course, Harper's been a majority leader PM for less than a year now so he should have already cleaned up the environmental issues and shut down the oil sands post haste.

You ignore that I have said often that I do not consider the CPC as a Conservative Party. It is most certainly further from conservatism than any Party in history: far less conservative than the NDP. It has been called a radical populist Party driven by "Grass Roots," but even that is not the case. It is a Party driven by a top down ideology and a cabal of enforcers that has no connection with any roots other than through its propaganda, slogans and taxation mantras. I recall Aneurin Bevin saying that he considered Conservatives to be lower than vermin. I tought then that he was way over the top and I still do. However, I do agree that this faux "conservatism" which is bordering on Fascism in its deliberate defiance of the expressed wishes of the people, is not lower than vermin but is vermin

.. k wait a minute .. you accuse the right of ridiculing and demonizing May and then you turn around and ridicule and demonize the right …. but you said only the right does that …… but you did it so ….. I’m confused here, are trying to come out of the closet and tell us that you secretly lean to the right?
